The fact that a 6’9” guy with a 7’3” wingspan and pogo sticks for legs with a really good feel for the game and nonstop motor could somehow go unnoticed at the JC, mid-major college, NCAA, and NBA level doesn’t exactly paint the scouting community in a great light.
Also credit definitely goes to the Kings coaching staff and in particular DC with his development. Every single practice video you would see DC working with him. Hard work does pay off and when those intangibles are there some good stuff can happen.

I thought he had one of his better defensive performances of his career tonight. He got worked by Sengun a bit in his second stint but he is one of the most crafty bigs in the game
Sengun definitely worked him but he has been such a fast learner and hard worker I dont see him struggling the same way again. Dude is a literal diamond in the rough.

Issac Jones was the one rookie/ young guy that really popped in Summer League and pre-season. I'm glad he's getting some run.

I think if he can develop his outside shot, he could play 3 to 5 on both sides of the floor.

Monte is doing better with Undrafted Free Agents than any 2nd round pick he's taken so far. No wonder he trades those 2nd round picks away like they're nothing.

In the one Summer League game I went to I was rather unimpressed with IJ in all facets of the game so I wasn't expecting much. To say I'm pleasantly surprised with his performance so far would be an understatement! He's already looking like a guy who should be a rotation fixture going forward which is crazy for an undrafted free agent just one month into his NBA career. Boogie Ellis was the guy who popped for me but our overabundance of guards has been well documented so it's no surprise he's been exiled to the G-League.

I almost forgot about Boogie Ellis, he popped for me in the pre-season too. TBH, outside of Issac Jones, I liked Boogie more than the other 2-way players we currently have signed. Eventually, if he gets a fair shake, Boogie Ellis will play in the NBA one day.

and like I've said before, he's better than Bronny James

Same here, so thankful he proved me wrong.
