[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (OCT/NOV)

I think it also helps that they have zero expectations. They were supposed to be the worst team in the league and half their roster is expecting to be traded at some point this season. The culture they have built is working great at least for now, it doesn’t matter who is playing they have someone going off for 30, the guy who did it last night had like 20 total points on the season
And their reward is to be stuck in mediocrity and have middling draft picks. They don't exactly have a young team there anyway. They should be winning some games. Kings fans have been there, done that, bought the shirt, wrote the book, and know how it ends, haha.

When was this? The Kings spent sixteen years looking up at mediocre. Kings Fans pined to be merely mediocre.

If the Hawks had a legit superstar instead of Trae Young that's a championship team , they have a Aaron Gordon with shooting in Johnson, 2 rim protectors, 3 guys who are excellent 3 and D players (Hunter/Rischer/Dyson), 6th man Bogi there supporting cast is far more talented than quiet a few teams that have won a title in recent times (Boston excluded cause they were insanely good outside Brown/Tatum) and well built

Seemed there was a lack of communication. Perhaps Monte made him seem more like a minute shoo in than Brown had in mind. I was surprised when he was pretty much treated like a 20 year old kid before the preseason began.

There wasn’t time for that. Their eagerness to bring him over made me think they had a grand vision with him.

In the end, Monte just saw another slow footed forward he couldn’t pass up.

I’m surprised the Kings still brought him over after extending both HB and Trey..and I’m surprised he agreed to come over here after the Kings extended both HB and Trey.

I was most excited when the Kings held his rights but my expectations were immediately tempered when I saw how the team was constructed going into last season…I knew he wouldn’t be playing significant minutes with Domas, and even if he did..he wouldn’t have many plays run between the two of them.

He could’ve been better but he wasn’t at the age to spend a year or two transitioning and then finding the right role. By then he would be out of his prime by NBA and Euroleague standards

I think Monte saw it as a fairly low risk high reward type of signing. If he comes over here and has the second fastest release in the game and plays high iq basketball it’s a win. Monte probably figured HB’s contract was likely to get moved at some point for a big swing and Trey was only on a 2 year deal. If Sasha came in and beat out Lyles and shot 40 percent from 3 he might still be on the team. Unfortunately, it sounds like he was getting toasted on defense in those early scrimmages and Mike didn’t want another turnstile out there. Those injuries he had didn’t help, every time he got momentum something would come up. I’m happy for him though, dude got a nice fat check and now he gets to play in the league he is built for
