I mean what's a few steps among friends eh?

-Interesting to see an 8-man rotation here. Wonder what the impetus for it is, hopefully a beat asks after the game
-Make your damn shots. 4-19 on the non-Huerter 3PA, and most of them are good C&S opportunities.
-Speaking of Huerter, he's playing the passing lanes incredibly well (3 deflections, 2 have lead to steals). 3-6 3PA.
-Monk is off to an excellent offensive start this season. Looks super bouncy/healthy.
-Keegan leading us in scoring and having to switch on the entire team is damn ridiculous. Had a play where he got switched off Bron, to AD, fronted him and got the steal.

We double way too much on the perimeter.
I'm gonna reply to myself here to extrapolate on this point. The reason we give up so many wide open 3s is we double on the screen so much we ALWAYS leave someone open on the kick out 3. It's just so easy to fix, stop doubling on the screen on the perimeter, then we won't have to rotate from one end of the court to the other when the ball moves to the open man. We give up SO MANY wide open 3s because the ball moves faster than the defender. Doubling at the POA allows 2 passes to find an open shooter. Force them to drive before committing to a double. Our strategy sucks. We don't collapse, we float on the perimeter defensively and try to rotate.

He’s on pace for 18pts/12asts on a 6:1 turnover ratio. Maybe not calling his own shot as much right now but it’s not like the dude has been invisible out there.
Yea and 2 for 7 so add that up as well. Let's get everything on the table.

He's not being aggressive at all. He's the star player. Look at king stats. This equal opportunity everyone shoot same amount of shots is not winning. Basketball. Stars need to be stars

Wear them down, Reddick has to ditch that bench platoon at some point. He started to just sprinkle them in late because they were just confused out there as a unit.
Knecht is already their sixth man as a rookie but that is pretty much just entirely because that bench is completely devoid of any NBA talent aside from Gabe Vincent, who is still only like 60% of the player he was on the Heat. I guess that’s to be expected when you waste a roster spot on your best player’s son but they’re also missing Christian Wood and Cam Reddish right now which is either going to help them or be a total disaster.

-I also really don't get why no Keon in the rotation, unless there's some mystery injury. Seems entirely unnecessary to pair this down to an 8-man rotation...game 2 of the year
Mike Brown has said he was still trying to figure out the rotations. I didn’t realize that meant he’d try paring things down to just the guys from two seasons ago plus Derozan but apparently that’s what he’s going for.

Zero minutes for Ellis makes me mad and sad
Me too. Keegan Murray balling out helps to numb the pain a little though. It's rough to be a Kings fan and prefer defense. Even when we manage to find a good defender they always get benched cause they're not scoring enough. I had thought things would be different under Mike Brown but he seems to have been swept into the momentum of the scoring hysteria just like every other Kings head coach has been.

Wonder who's in his ear with this. Brown has pretty religiously played 10 guys and has been on record in the past that he feels a 10-man rotation helps keeps guys fresh. Him going down the path of Thibs is a real outlier

At one point I thought i saw McLaughlin waiting to enter, dunno what happened and he didnt (late in the 1st quarter).
Then at the bench it wasn't Mike Brown standing most of the times but Loucks that I even thought MB wasn't there (it's morning here so I might have missed the news), but ok he's there.
I would also like MB to call a time out in that Lakers 12-0 run like he didn't vs the Wolves with that 11-0 2 days ago.
