No Kings in All Star game

Fox didn't deserve it this year over who, Curry?

But Sobonis for sure deserved it.

Fox thinks he's curry these days with all these 3s. He made a few and realize that was easier than attacking the paint. Problem is that's not who he is or what we need
Lmao all star can’t even make the play in game they rewarded winning by have KAT, lebron, AD, and curry go

oh wait

I'm sure both guys would rather make an All-NBA team again at the end of the year anyway, but this is embarrassing for the league. Steph has lead his team to the 12th best record of 15 teams in the Western Conference (but he's #1 in jersey sales, right?). The Lakers are sub .500 but they have 2 All-Stars? Nobody cares about the stupid All-Star game anymore anyway -- it's unwatchable basketball. At least reward the players/teams who deserve it.

Like I said, screw em. Use this, galvanize the team and make em regret it.

Fox should be in over Steph, easily. Domas should be in over KAT, AD easily.

Just classic disrespect. Sacramento gets none of it. All the excuses about why Boogie never made it for those years and now that we're a good team AND 2 guys who statistically deserve it. Stupid. I hope they both decline as subs.

For sure over Curry. The NBA started their own rule about winning. Last checked, Kings > Warriors.

Absolutely terrible Sabonis wasn’t selected.

Fox I think sort of lost it with his January and the guard field is so competitive in the West. All of them deserving. A month averaging 20 when you were averaging 30 is a killer in the West when everybody is healthy.

Dlo and KC were talking about Steph like he was legacy lol. I was thinking “well, he’s also still one of the best players in the NBA” lol

I don’t think KAT and AD are having better seasons than Domas.

KAT shoots 3 more times a game, 4 more threes per game and averages 3 points more while being dwarfed on rebounds and assists. I know it isn’t defense that sets him apart. KAT got benched in a game he scored 62 in lol. This is the most egregious of the ones chosen over Domas. This should’ve easily been Sabonis.

Anthony Davis takes 5 more shots to average 5 more points but is as good on the boards and great defensively. Domas is having a better season but AD should be an all star.

Paul George is also not having a better season than Sabonis.

I could only imagine the people that decided it were the “lMaO kEVon LoOnEy” types.

Terrible

simply too much good guard competition for Fox to make it and even last year was a replacement option, which I still think he should of declined but it was his first one so I can understand it. He says he doesn't care if he's an All-star and he got his wish. Sabonis though is a head scratcher, he's been the best Kings player this season I think. Either way, haven't and won't watch an All-Star game so to fans such as myself, it's meh.

I'm not offended as a Kings fan, I'm not offended as a Fox/Domas fan, I'm however offended as an NBA fan for how bad an All-star selection system they have that does not have the right construct to showcase every great player they have in their league. Domas is listed as #7 on the MVP ladder, but not being seen fit by either fans or coaching staffs who have to gameplan for Domas and he still gets his triple-double.

Vince Carter said that on TNT on Tuesday.
Vince wouldn't have to be embarrassingly giving his role up, clearly unwillingly, to Michael Jordan because he's retiring. But that also showed you just how bad an all-star selection system they have.

Because some of us still like it, that's why. The next time the All-Star game doesn't entertain me will be the first time.
Those who care about the lights and glamour and celebrity would still like it. Not saying you are not a real fan or anything like that, but fans can obviously like it for whatever reasons, basketball-related or not, and it is why the All-Star Game is so causal-fan-driven.

I don’t really enjoy the all-star game. I’ll watch it if our guys are in only. NBA is dumb. Trash not to have our guys in there.
It's fun to see one of your guys in the game, for sure. Outside of that, I watch the 3pt contest and that's it. Dunk contest has been good like twice in 30 years lol. When LaVine and Aaron Gordon were dueling it out.

Even as simple as a Dunk contest they had to ruin it... Since the Aaron Gordon/Zach Lavine and how they ruined that contest, it has zero interest.

So let me get this straight. They watched enough Kings basketball to know that Fox has been slumping with poor play, but don’t know that Sabonis is playing the best basketball of his career????

What a ****ing snub of Sabonis. How is this even possible? They must be using the Draymond matchup against him. For being an butthead, the rest of the league sure does love him. None of this makes sense. How do you leave off Sabonis?

It's cool, man. I don't really care whether anybody considers me a "real" fan or not; I don't have anything to prove. I do think it's kinda weird how many people want to make sure that other people know they're not going to watch but, whatever. It's not like there was going to be a quiz afterwards.

I do reject the premise that it's only for people who "care about the lights and glamour," though: I just want to watch the guys who are going to be there, and I don't take sports seriously enough to be turned off by that other stuff.

Disregarding the specific scoring average, I think that a player being in the Top 10 in the league in scoring being left off the All-Star team is kind of unprecedented in itself.
I think you could make a case for Fox or Sabonis but it was harder to make the case for both. My guess is Fox and Sabonis split the vote and neither got in.

if you took a vote here, I’m not sure who would win.

I think this is exactly right. I don't think the coaches do a big statistical dive or comparison. Most probably thought "there should be one King on the team" and they split the vote.
