Kings trade rumor SZN 2023-2024 edition!

I like this: Fox, Huerter, P-Will, Murray, Sabonis

Better than this: Fox, Lavine, P-Will, Murray, Sabonis

The reason being, having Huerter in the lineup might help to unlock P-Will's potential. Having Lavine in there instead could result in it being just like at the Bulls for him.

i kinda feel like we are going to do something this week or not at all. I’m ok with either scenario. Either make a big splash (imo this means either a game changing defender or another scorer AND a low usage defensive player or ride out the rest of the season knowing you have an imperfect roster and let Keegan continue to grow. Start KVon and let him rebuild his value, start Lyles and bring HB off the bench so we can stop hearing about how it’s all his fault every game and try to win 48-50 games. No shame in that, your pick conveys and you have full access to the rest of your picks. At that point you still have very reasonable contracts to move to match salary.

Because we have such limited assets I can’t get behind trading a first for a guy like DFS or a similar player. It helps us but it doesn’t move the needle enough and you are left with not much ammo to make another move in the near future.

Some size, rebounding, defense. It’s looking like Wendell Carter is getting squeezed out in Orlando. They need shooting and Huerter might be appealing. Can Domas and Wendell coexist? Wendell is a very capable defender at both the 4/5. Good feet with 7’5 wingspan, sets nice screens, playmaking instincts, decent lob threat which we don’t have in the starting lineup currently. His 3% is low but he has an effective pump fake and attacks close outs much better than Barnes. I love Moody and think he could slide in to replace Huerter nicely, he looks ready to me. Moody can guard 2/3, Keegan can guard 2-4 so perimeter D gets a significant upgrade along with a major rebounding lift from Wendell.
Domas
Wendell
Keegan
Moody
Fox

With Draymond coming back and TJD emerging Looney may be an option. 2nd unit:
Looney
Lyles
Barnes
Monk
Ellis/Colby

I think it would take at least a 1st round pick for warriors trade or more and maybe 2nd to magic but still don’t see warriors doing that deal

Moody and Kuzma would be intriguing adds for the Kings - and those 2 teams need to dump salary. I think Davion would hold some value for Washington. But I don’t know how to structure those trades.

Oh really?

That starts to make things a bit more interesting. Basically guarantees no 1st round pick from our end and maybe we get one back? Pat-Will as the "sweetner"?
This whole thing has been all over the place, lol. I've also read some things that said the Bulls want 2 firsts. If that's the case then heck no but for basically free? Yes, yes, yes.

Yeah I'd we get an asset, that changes the equation drastically. Saving a first and getting one back? Or Pwill, who o assume is the asset they'd have to dangle if Lavines market really is in the toilet

Man it would even be hard for me to turn down a Barnes/Huerter/Mitchell/Duarte for LaVine/Williams trade but I’d be shocked if the Bulls actually attach assets to move him.

One of the issues with LaVine is his salary and how many years he has left on his contract. In the 2026-27 season, you’d have…
  • LaVine making $49 mil
  • Sabonis making $48 mil
  • Monk making around $20 mil (if we offer him the max we can over 4 years)
  • Williams making around $15-25 mil (whatever we resign him for)
  • Fox on the 1st year of his new deal (around $51 mil if he gets the max)
  • Keegan on the 1st year of his new deal (around $43 mil if he gets the max)

You’re talking about around $225-235 mil invested in 6 players when the cap is projected to be around $170 mil and the luxury tax around $208 mil that year.

Now if you trade for a guy like Grant instead, that gives you around $195 mil tied up in 5 players (Fox, Monk, Murray, Grant, & Sabonis) which seems a bit more manageable. Now if you swap Grant for Kuzma (since Kuzma’s deal declines), you’re looking at $180 mil tied up in 5 players.

I’d be surprised if we add a guy with LaVine’s long term salary knowing how that might clash with Fox, Monk, Murray, and Sabonis down the road.

If this is true, you absolutely do this. He isn’t as bad as people make him out to be. Injury history is concerning, but offensively he’s gifted and he’s definitely a good enough shooter to compliment our team. If they are looking to get picks back, then you walk away, but in this scenario I’d take the risk. Intriguing to say the least. Next few weeks will be fun.

Looks like all the guys you guys are chatering about in Portland will be traded tomorrow morning your time ...
Lets see who of them are comming here and who not and what we will give ...
Cant see another logic in Portland playing with 8 players (according to flashscore ... )

There are other teams interested in those guys though. Dallas being one of them. Thybulle signed an offer sheet with them that was matched by the Blazers and they could use a forward. I won’t be surprised if one or more of them are Kings tomorrow and I won’t be surprised if they go to Dallas either.

Ouch , i am not saying they are all comming at Kings :D:D
I just pointed out that all 3 of the guys you all are talking about should be trated in the next day or two ... At the end none of them might come here ... But they will go somewhere ...
