Warriors playing two lotto picks and their first round pick from this year. Meanwhile, the Kings only first round guy playing right now is Len, who was a lotto pick in one of the weakest drafts in the 21st century and has been in the league for a decade now.

Well, my question so far in preseason is where is summer league Keegan? Hello? Paging Mr. Murray. I think a great way to see if Keegan is going to where they need him to is free throws. If you are that next up, you get to the line. Keegan averaged around 1 free throw per game last season, and so far in preseason he's played 38 minutes without a single free throw. That means you aren't being aggressive enough, period.

Of all the guys playing garbage minutes, I am only impressed with Coby Jones. He shows the ability to control the ball and make good decisions. I like Duarte to be the starter over Huerte when the season start. Huerte should come off the bench this season...his lack of defense is a glare weakness last year. Mitchell, once again...didn't show me anything. He absolutely didn't improve anything so far....he's becoming a 1-dimensional player like usual. Unlike Kuminga, you can see he's improving by attacking the basket and drawing fouls. I hope they don't pull Fox and Sabonis at the same time when the season start...I just don't see a cohesive offense when one of them isn't in the game. Monk thrive with Sabonis in the game. Vezenkov doesn't seem to be part of the team. He helps make thing happened by rebounding and hustle and I like that but the Kings need to get this man going...I mean if he's a great shooter...you got to run play for him like you did with Keegan.

Entertaining game. Fox and Sabonis look very ready for the coming season. Any questions surrounding Murray and the extent of his progress will be answered during the regular season when the pressure is on and his impact is needed. I continue to be impressed by his defense, despite a couple of fouls tonight. He is a physically thick dude (compare him to Wiggins) and when he learns more about how to literally throw his weight around he's going to have even more of a positive impact on this team.

Agreed. Although I thought Ellis played some good D and hit some big shots. But you're right - Jones does seem to have good instincts for the game and I can easily see him eventually getting some pretty good minutes with the big club.

I feel better after this one than the last two. You can see the core of what we do is going to be good it’s just figuring out all this other stuff.
Most definitely. My eyes personally needed to see what we saw in that opening quarter + it was just good to see us look as polished as we did in certain instances of that stretch. We still got it! Now we just need to focus on defense, rebounding and making sure guys like Keegan Murray are fed a bit more than usual. A shooter like Keegan doesn't need to be as modest as he has been IMO - I'm not saying he needs to be a chucker, but i don't wanna see him hit back to back threes and not touch the basketball for minutes at a time. I didn't see the entire game btw, im just speaking in general and I'd like to see a lot less of that.

Went back and watched the 2nd half and you just see exactly the thesis behind the Colby Jones pick. I don't think he's ever a feature player on a good team, but he's certainly someone who can develop into one of those valuable role players that's just constantly contributing to contending teams in a 20+ MPG type role. Absolutely starter potential with him, especially if surrounded by star talent like a Domas/Fox. He'll need to dial in an elite shot, but basically everything else about his game is very very good.

everything about him is pretty much Josh Hart when he was with the Lakers and playing backup guard for some reason. Maybe not the rebounder that Hart is (although he’s really good there as well) but absolutely the kind of gritty do-everything role player that this franchise struggled to find or develop for seventeen straight years so the GM would have to resort to overpaying for the twilight years of CoJo or Garrett Temple instead. He and Keon both looking like viable rotation level players at this stage in their careers is another win for Monte McNair. Slawson was an absolute defensive menace in OT as well.

Now none of those guys really showed any go-to offensive skills down the stretch aside from Keon getting confused and randomly turning into Ray Allen for a five possession stretch but they are the sort of “Heat culture” style pieces you put around a couple of stars in a gritty slugfest of a playoff series and then let go get overpaid by a struggling franchise in the offseason as you cycle the next batch of gritty role players in through your system.
