[KINGS] Comments that don't warrant their own thread (Redux)

I'm not quite sure Draymond and Sabonis would work. His defense would be awesome but his passing is an overlapping skill and his shooting would be a problem.

Not that it's bad to have multiple playmakers but it's one of his main calling cards and wouldn't be utilized like it should be on our squad. His price tag will include his playmaking skills so we would essentially be paying for a skill he wouldn't use as often as he should on most other teams. Coupling that with his lack of shooting makes me question his fit here.

I don't know though. The Kings could probably use the toughness since the West just became a put your big boy pants on right in the area where the Kings want to be. And it's probably not over yet. Not perfect but interesting in so many ways.

I'm all about getting tougher but I don't really think toughness is what knocked the Kings out of the playoffs either. Looney just straight up outworked Sabonis on the boards but it's not like Sabonis was the leading rebounder in the league because he was soft. He just got beat.

Good thing is that there's a couple of tough players in our range in the draft. A Bruce Brown type player would be awesome.

I'd imagine if anyone could figure out the fit, it would be coach Brown.

Not sure he's the direction we should go though. As already mentioned, his passing would be underutilized playing alongside Domas... The defense and toughness would be nice, but most likely it won't be worth the price. Some team is going to overpay.... probably the Lakers.

And then when you factor in Draymond Green's biggest wart, that he is in fact Draymond Green, and I think it's a pass.

I think one of the least appreciated aspects of Vivek as the owner of the Kings is the fact that a lot of the guys who've come through here in recent years (aside from Marvin Bagley) seem to actually like/tolerate the guy as a person, which is more than you can say for a lot of NBA owners. Chima didn't exactly leave the Kings on the best of terms/in the best situation and yet here he is taking pictures with Vivek, who randomly flew to Europe to watch him play (yes I know this picture is like a week old at this point).

Obviously there is some things Draymond brings that the Kings need, but a big part of his game as a DHO facilitator like Domas isn’t really needed on the Kings

. If we want more defense in the frontcourt. I’d suggest we look elsewhere.

Especially since I doubt Draymond opted out of $27 million to take too massive of a pay cut and too lesser of a role.

If the Kings want to spend that kind of money on a versatile frontcourt defensive player with playmaking ability that doesn’t really help space the floor, but also could make plays in different way from Domas…just as well relieve the Nets of Ben Simmons.

i’m not recommending either

Grr. Would be nice if BBall-index would, oh, I don't know, actually define "on-ball" and "off-ball" gravity somewhere on their webpage. They define "3PT gravity" but that doesn't have an on/off ball component. Furthermore, they imply that negative numbers, not positive numbers, are good, but give no idea what the values are inferred to mean.

If I have to give a guess based on that, this data means that the Kings ball handlers attract among the highest amount of defensive attention in the league, while their off-ball players attract among the least. This makes some sense - the ball is in Fox's hands as a drive threat or in Domas' hands in the paint quite a bit so on-ball defensive attention is what we would expect, and I guess that would detract from off-ball attention. But I would expect the Warriors to have high off-ball attention (not the lowest in the league), and that interpretation would suggest that the Spurs are among the most closely-guarded teams in the league when you combine on- and off- ball, but that the Sixers are the least-guarded team in the league. That doesn't seem to track.

So...I'm not sure I can really make heads or tails of this, but hey, the Kings are up in the northwest corner!

Well, I think that stat shows that the Kings have a great off ball offense but teams don't respect their on ball component? Looks right, but with that smattering of teams I'm not sure how much that actually matters one way or the other. Throw that stat in the TRASH, haha.

I agree the Lakers are too high but the Suns have two top ten players and a former all star on their roster. I get Perk giving them their respect
I understand that, but 2 of them are Lucky to play 60 games and they have no depth and no money to fill out the roster. If they find a way to get some decent depth, then you can put them on that list.

Jeremy Woo of ESPN said on the Lowe Post that the Sacramento Kings would've reunited Keegan and Kris Murray (who are identical twins but have opposite dominant hands) with their #24 draft pick.
The Portland Trailblazers ended up drafting Kris with the #23 pick last night, and Sacramento traded the #24 pick and Richuan Holmes to the Dallas Mavericks afterward.

He didn't cite any source so it could all be him guessing. * shrug *
