Are biggest strength all year was our depth and our youth. We was running people out the gym. Brown said all year we didn’t have 5 superstars we had a full team. Then coke playoffs, all the role players we groomed all season get zero pt and Len comes out of nowhere. Why? I gotta ask. Nothing against Len but Holmes would have been the guy if anything to surprise people with. He can guard all 5 and is a hustle guy. Perfect against warriors if anything. I just don’t get it.

Just weren’t getting good shots in the end. Kings blew it in the first. They shot 8-12 from three in the first but were turning the ball over and playing their worst defense of the series. It was bad to only be up three after one.

they made some tough ones but 21 for Draymond was a back breaker.

this series went south when the Kings stopped winning the boards and turnover battle.

They can win in SF, but I’d be shocked if the Kings win this series now. Kings needed to handle the boards and take better care of the ball. They haven’t since game 2.

don’t want to be doom and gloom but not feeling confident is what I’ll say.

Below average scoring game for Fox. He looked like a guy with a broken finger in the second half but he gutted it out and there is really no contest without him if he didn’t.

Monk was terrible most of the game but Warriors run away with it without his fourth. He almost won the game.

HB kept the team in it but he started a bit too late as well.

Domas had a better game rhythmically. Less forcing and taking what they give him. It’s maddening watching him not hesitate and sink that midrange a few times tonight when that shot has been there all series and it’s a good shot for him. …he had some turnovers but I think 2-3 of them were immediately following a turnover he forced. So he take and give it back.

What bothered me about Domas performance tonight is he was losing all the contested rebounds to Looney. Outside of the turnovers, that was where the Kings lost.

His rebounding since the second half of Game 3 has been way sub par. I think he only had 20 rebounds in the last 10 quarters. that’s killer since rebounding is the thing the Kings definitely needed to win.

So, perhaps Looney has been getting away with something since Game 2. Harder to tell with Domas but I noticed Len a couple of times was in position to to suddenly two feet out of position on a couple of Looneys offensive rebounds.

Kings stopped getting Keegan the ball. I don’t know what happened.

Huerter was bad and has been bad this series.

Lyles too quiet.

Davion was strong as usual in this series. He missed a lot of shots but he’s proved his value in this series. He’s been a constant. Game starts getting away they go back to Davion.

Curry made some BS. Couldn’t guard him any better.

Let’s get one in the road

This was a pretty big chokejob. 2-23 from 3 after the first quarter.
Keegan starts well, but only ends up with 5 shots? In 35 minutes of PT. He was 4/5 and 2/2 from three.

Meanwhile Huerter — who’s been albatross the entire series — has 10 shots and 4 three point attempts in only 16 minutes.

Sorry, I’m placing blame on Coach Brown and his staff for failing to mix in more play designs for Keegan. Some of it could be attributed to lack of aggressiveness — even though Keegan didn’t lack any in Q1 — but the staff can help with that by drawing up some good looks.

I’m seeing the Warriors draw up and execute plays for easy shots or layups out of time outs and have rarely seen the same from the KINGS.

Another consistent theme are lazy passes against aggressive overplaying defense. Turnovers are where the KINGS lost the game tonight.

The three point shooting sucked, again, but the Warriors were no better. So that wasn’t a deciding factor.

I do they think they win this game with a healthy Fox. So that bad luck is disappointing
Hurts so **** much i'd rather just lose outright than to be guessing what could have been. Sacramento shouldn't have to keep waiting for something good to transpire when it matters most. it's been a storybook season but with expectations raised, it would be nice to come up with a big win or two.

We should have kept Bogdanovic instead of going for Huerter.
Bogdanovic playoff series so far against the celtics who is much better defensively than the Warriors

54.3 FG% 48.3 3P% on 6 attempts averaging 13.6 points
Bogi has always been a clutch player. Wish we were able to keep him

I really think the lack of adjustments is biting Brown really hard. We were an HB 3pter away from being 3-1, so maybe he feels that his gameplay has been working. However, allowing Domas to be completely neutralized is not a good look. More blame falls down on Domas, but you have to change something.

No one has brought him up, but I think Kessler's defensive impact could've been a big game changer for a series like this where every possession adds up.
Everyone kept going at Domas in the game thread, but dude finished with 21-10-4 with 3 steals-1 block on 15 shots. -1 in +- while savior of the universe Alex Len was 3-3-1 with no stocks and -6 in 11 minutes.

This game wasn't on Domas. This game was on whoever was supposed to be ****ing putting a body on GPII to keep him off the offensive glass and going 2-23 from 3 after the 1Q.

Yeah no Kessler is seemingly becoming a huge mistake. He was great for us down the stretch and the playoffs are built for guys like him. Maybe he's actually not good, but you need defensive-minded wings with a big motor on the floor, especially vs this GSW team.

I'm not really trippin.

GS is the better team

Worst case scenario we lose and the front office should have a lot of info on how to improve the team

If I'm the Kings and Mike Brown I don't start Huerter the next game. I start Davion. It's win or go home and there's really no opportunity here to hope that a guy will start making his shots

I'm really not convinced at Huerter being a core piece. I understand he has an above average basketball IQ but his defense is average I think at best and sometimes his shooting is atrocious

Perhaps a player that is a better defender that is passable as a shooter, why not Keon Ellis? He seems to fit the bill but maybe I'm wrong

The turnovers were really bad and I think probably what did the team in today. Sloppy sloppy.

I'd probably give credit more to the Warriors defense for this but obviously this needs to get better. Perhaps as time goes on it will?

I'd say for sure keepers are Fox Sabonis Murray Monk and maybe Davion. Beyond that I don't think there are any for sure keepers

Remember that this is year 1 of being a decent team.

The Warriors lost in the playoffs in the 1st or 2nd round I believe (and I think twice) before really becoming elite.

I'm kind of glad they faced the Warriors because this should be able to provide the front office good intel on what needs to change and stay the same. The Warriors have always been an outstanding defensive team

I know there's still a game 6, I will watch without any expectations. A lot to be proud of either way!

Did anyone in our media ask him this after the game? It just has to be addressed man smh this just freaking SUCKS

Again, where the **** is Brown to rein him in a bit? I get he gives Fox a leash, but him launching like he's Steph is not how we win ball games. Or how we won ball games this year either.

I love Mike Brown and he's far and away the best coach the Kings have had since Adelman. But man, he's really getting exposed quite a bit in the last 3 games. He's not handling getting worked over by Kerr well at all.
I would like to give these guys more than one playoff series with a different opponent, before I categorize this as a trend. The Splash Brothers don't do their usual wide array of ridiculous shots unique to them when they need it most and this is a different series, despite off the ugliness.

They're still putting up 120+ regularly even despite how bad it's looked.

Defense has to accounted for in the offseason though.

We're the 4th youngest team in the playoffs this year... we have time.

The big question is how much do you overreact to GSW having the perfect defensive answer to Domas without an adjustment from our coach and our shooting becoming the worst in the NBA over a 5-game stretch?

I think it’s also good to remind ourselves that we won 2 games in this series and could have won two more. We are analyzing every thing because we are fanatics. The shooting problems are obvious and maybe don’t happen again if we had a do over. The sabonis thing is tough because he did ok tonight he just isn’t dominating like he usually does. And as you said, loon and Draymond are probably the toughest interior duo to take out a bully ball center. This is why the warriors win championships. They have the best defensive player of our generation who can guard Fox or Sabonis. Think about that startement. And they have the best shooting duo in history to make stupid, spirit breaking shots. Sucks

Bogi is making more money than Huerter, has leg ligaments that are made of tortellini at this point, and is the same age as Harrison Barnes, who some people think is too old for our core as is.

The thing is that Monte can't get too greedy and go all in too fast like the T-Wolves did.

That team kept most of its core intact but gave up essentially everything else to add a core piece that on-paper addressed its biggest need (defense).
Monte will need to have a sit down with Sabonis when the season is over. We have to get him to sign a contract extension this summer.. I know he's mentioned that he's been really happy here in Sacramento, but if he hits FA in 2024, it could be devastating for the franchise. If he doesn't sign said extension this off-season, I don't think we can afford to be first round exits next year. We'd be the Pacers of the East... (during Domas' time there).

You want to avoid a Rudy-type trade, but with HB's free agency looming, I think some moves are needed.

Like we have 3 wins in this series if Huerter/HB are just passable shooting the ball and not fully unplayable.
Sabonis has been a really big disappointment - he is so handicapped left its terrible, and then the slow-mo rebounding and koo-koo bird turnovers just suck. He played a little better defensively but the 5 turnovers were too much. He needs to take more elbow shots at 14 ft.

The Kings got impatient in this game just like game 4........but game 3 was the dingleberry

True, but the Warriors are also probably looking at those 2 first games thinking, we should have also been able to win those first 2 games, but we played like crap and made mistakes......

Depends what Barnes wants in free agency.

Yeah, it’s just roll your eyes moments when deep threes are banked in off the glass.

And while it was early in the game, the officials missed an obvious 3 point play for Fox on continuation. IDK how in the world they discounted that basket.

Every point matters in games like these and that was at least two (even if the FT is missed) that should have been on the board.

Yeah Klay does. Lets put it this way, this is a game of guard skills and oh yeah, Klay has them for sure. When a big is on him he's attacking no doubt. That's also a different team there with Curry, Poole and such. I was also never sold on Klay being a number 1 by the way. Notice how the Warriors are always so adamant about having a 2nd or 3rd scorer. Klay is probably part of the reason. People questioned why they would go after players like Russell, Wiggins, Poole, etc. They will make sure come hell or highwater there is another scorer next to Klay and Steph.
I guess I’m not ready to cap Keegan’s ceiling as a 3 point specialist after one rookie season like it appears you have. I don’t think Keegan is going to turn into Tatum or anything, I just think he has shown both as a pro and in college he can be more. If he is aggressive, he will bust through that and it’s entirely up to him to do it.

To be fair, we've also seen him regularly struggle against bigger centers. I have to ask myself, who of the playoff teams would be a good matchup for Sabonis?

There is no way you can make that move on a must win. We need Kevin to win game 7 period. Or we lose. Fox will still be injured Friday. We need flame thrower keg and everything else that comes with it. Honestly think we should start monk next year and find another spark off bench. Monk is a stud

Keep in mind that he's been playing with a broken right thumb for the last four months.

But we still found a way to beat them and that’s what good teams do. We aren’t a lottery team overnight just because the defending champs have beaten us 3 times in a row. We can beat them and i won’t be surprised if we get another road win on Friday. I’m calling it now

Sure, Wiggins could have made that 3 in game 1 and Barnes could have made it in 4. The difference has been a handful of possessions or in some cases just one.

Bottom line, this team needs interior defense and another consistent go to option.

Sabonis hasn't been horrible, but he doesn't have another gear he can go to for the playoffs.

Kings need to take the gloves off next season for Murray. These last 2 games has showed me he's game for a bigger role if Brown just includes him in the gameplan.

Yeah, but this isn't a team with a boatload of chances to keep most of the roster intact with cap space on the horizon to take the next leap at another point. Once Fox and Sabonis are on max contracts outside of clearing the decks in some way that can't be relied on. The fiddle ****ing this franchise did in Fox's early years cut into a lot of that flexiblity. Monte has a legit question at this point to ask. Keep this together by re-signing Barnes, Lyles, etc. wait for Monk, Davion, etc. to fall off the books and cement it? Sorry, but I still think this team needs another all star level talent to rely on. In time it's not even the Warriors that concern me, it's the big wing teams. The other question is do you gamble on that next guy being Murray? Maybe Sasha? It's possible but I think if Brown did anything this year he could have improved on it was kicking the tires on the Murray kid a little more often and see if there's the chance for him to do it with the team as constructed. I think he can individually but it's a question of opportunity sometimes. The playoffs showed something about Brown that honestly has always kind of been there, you need guard skills to shine typically when it comes to him. In the contender years with Cleveland I can see why players like Mo Williams and Delonte West would shine. Same with Monk and Davion.

I 100% believe that Kevin has the yips. His mental game this year has not been great as shown by his poor FT shooting. He just don't have it in him lately
His 3pt shooting was awful Jan-Feb. It looked like he had a hitch leading up to the 3pt contest. Then it looked like he fixed it in March. He’s had open looks this series but it seems like his release is back to what it was earlier this year. A lot of his shots aren’t even in line

Would have been nice to see him or Kessler Edwards. I’m not sure how he Edwards didn’t get any run when he really came on toward the end of the season and gave us a lot of what we’d been missing. Mike Brown has a lot of things he needs to improve and think about but I’m still glad he’s our guy.
