Kings Playoff Standings Watch!!!

What I said about the Mavs two weeks ago now applies to Golden State.

I'd like to funnel them into a first-round matchup with the Suns, winner faces the Nuggets. That requires us to hold onto 3 with a 3 game cushion or to get by Memphis. Suns need to falter for even just a couple in a row.
I'm still looking at the distinct possibility of taking memphis's place the number two slot, but I hear you.

Considering how frequently teams in the Western Conference morass play each other until season's end, there's really not much use in rooting for particular outcomes. There are too many variables. The fact of the matter is that everybody's still chasing the Kings. Our guys just need to handle their business and continue to win more games than they lose in the final stretch. Maybe Golden State keeps on their current tear. Maybe Phoenix seriously levels up with Durant. Either way, the pressure is on them to make up ground, and it won't be easy, and I certainly don't think the Kings are just going to step aside and let somebody else waltz into the third seed.

Hey everybody. I’m
Ed in Phoenix. Actually live in Scottsdale. Love the Kings and how they have come together as a team. So wish the Suns could have beat the Bucks Two years ago with our team. I will be
happy if the Suns win with KD. I hope the Kings win without a transplant superstar if Suns lose I’m a Kings fan!

Oh now that would be interesting. Phx and GSW at 4 and 5, then they'd play Den in the 2nd round. Would leave us LAC or DAL as likely 6 seeds and then MEM in R2. Our side of the bracket would be muuuch preferred.

I think PHX is probably the only real threat to catch us at 3. Everyone else would have to hope we collapse and/or significantly fall off a cliff the last 20. LAC and DAL seem to be having enough issues where I don't know if they turn it around quickly enough the last month of the season. GSW getting Steph back soon very likely faults them ahead

Agree completely. Phoenix and Golden State look the most dangerous. If we can hold onto 2/3, then those two teams look likely to be 4/5, and on the same side of the bracket as Denver. Staying at 2/3, and being in a bracket with Memphis, Dallas, and the playin 7/8 winner is almost too good to be true, since we would avoid the three most dangerous teams until the WCF. It really puts an emphasis on finishing strong.

warriors have a good chance of winning the next 3 games which would be 7 in a row. After that though they play Grizz, Bucks, Suns, Clippers and a potentially energized Hawks team. Would be nice to see them rack up at least 3 but hopefully 4 losses in that stretch.
That, and even with Curry they have been God awful on the road

I just can't believe this is a legit conversation after the way we started the season lol WOW. Although many of us saw that this team was a bit different, even in the chaos of that 0-4 start. We at least knew we were better than last season, i just never could have imagined this. That previous team with Hield and Hali would get smoked by what we have now

Scottsdale is a nice place, used to go with my dad down to the BJ auctions. Never bought anything :D

Usually would be a good thing, but we for some reason play way worse when we have positive game context in our favor. Actually a nice surprise we were able to take 2 from OKC without Shai, usually we find a way to blunder those sort of opportunities.

Unfortunately, none of the rest of the LAC guys really got super extended minutes wise vs the Warriors. But still, 2nd night of a B-B, no Kawhi. Got to take advantage.

I don't care what the poor track record or sample says about this.

Long term I'd rather play teams without their stars than with, and teams with rest disadvantage. Eventually that record would probably start to self-correct itself.

It's not a gimme but it doesn't hurt. He has played well. Of course George will still play and he can give us fits all by himself.

Sadly aren’t those the games we almost always lose?

Agree with this so so much. There hasn’t been much to be salty about this year, but this idea that games where the opponent is in a back to back and missing stars is bad for us is just such a ridiculous take. It’s like when they say a team is 0-32 when they trail after 3 quarters. That stat has no determination on the game ahead.

It is a mental thing. Dropping games you “should” win and not coming out taking advantage of opportunities is a mindset. Just because Charlotte beat us on a back to back doesn’t mean the clippers will. Get dialed in, play our game, and we will win most of those. If we can’t get up for a team directly below us in the standings in a playoff race, then we have real problems.

On balance, the Clips on a back to back without Kawhi is good, regardless of what we’ve done in the past.

Oh for sure. Just one of those more random small sample size outcomes. Playing without kawhi and playing a team on a 2nd night of a b-b is always better than not. Just hope we can start taking advantage of that context

Yeah we've been poor this year in good context spots. But I don't think that's sticky moving forward in the slightest.

Playing a team without its top 15 player and with no rest is just always better than not. On us to start taking advantage of that context. Was a good step when we beat OKC twice without Shai. We've been prone to blow those kind of opportunities this year

Praying Huerter and Davion continue to contribute and we get big games from Lyles and Monk again. Just keep Sabonis out of foul trouble and we can beat this squad again. I’ll be in the building tonight so I’m super duper nervous.
