Eh, I think tonight was a horrid representation of what we could potentially do without Fox AND Domas on the floor. There's like 7 deltas between Fox running that 2nd unit and Delly lol. I have to believe you can find a better solution with like a Monk-TD-Huerter-HB-Lyles sort of LU
That stupid zone killed the bench squad tonight. It’s hard to get going against that junk when you haven’t practiced as a unit.

And Dallas lost at home again? Lmao is it Christmas in some alternate reality?!
Kinda weird to think if Dallas can't put their stuff together, they'll only have 3 years being better than us since we passed on that guy. A guy I expect will be demanding a trade soon if they can't put their stuff together.

Clippers will be on a back to back. So it will be tough. Let’s see which game they choose to load manage Kawhi.
So funny you mention that: Leonard has only missed six games since Christmas, but four of those have involved back-to-backs. He still has yet to play in both games of a back-to-back set this season, and has sat out the second game in five out of seven back-to-back sets.

Were the ones he did play the second night, 3 for 4s? Because it sounds like we are catching them on the 3rd game in 4 nights.

I am so proud of this team....let's get it. Winning without Fox!!! Mitchell play well...i think coming off the bench with limited minutes might mess up his rhyme or something. He shoot well when he's starting.

Well, I've clicked off that tab, but one of those two games was their third game of the season, so I don't think so?

EDIT - Turns out I was wrong, at least about that first B2B. The first time Leonard played on the second night of a back-to-back was in fact a third game in four nights. Amusingly enough, the game he missed was against the Kings; that was the night that George went for forty.

EDITx2 (and 3) - The second time Leonard played on the second night of a back-to-back was also a "3 games in 4 nights" situation. Both occurrences involved the first game being against a losing team (at the time), and the second game being against a team in playoff contention (at the time). If I counted correctly, this will be the Clippers' tenth back-to-back set this season, the seventh with Leonard in the lineup, but only the fourth back-to-back set where both teams are currently in playoff contention, and the first time when both teams are vying for a playoff seed in the western conference.

I never saw us getting to this point, and certainly not this soon after being blown out by the Pelicans without Fox. It was major doom and gloom that night and look at us now. WOW!! So glad we can finally rest a bit and just enjoy where we are for a couple days before the next game.

Also...

FOUR wins away from officially clinching the best record we've had since the beginning of the "current" playoff drought.
Speaking of that best record, I sorta got into a discussion with a Kings blogger elsewhere tonight about what would have been win 40 in that season.

I will go to my grave convinced that Joerger not only lost that game on purpose (25 point lead at half time against a 6 man Blazers squad determined to lose to get a favorable playoff matchup), he quit on the team the final 10 games when it became clear we wouldn't catch the 8 seed costing us a chance at .500 or better record that season.

The real funny thing is I think I was one of the last people standing by Joerger until that night. Because it was in Portland I took that one personally, but surely he lost that one on purpose, right?

IDK. Would we be here if they had a better start? Maybe the bad start galvanized them to listen to coach in a way that they might not have. We'll never know. But yes, I would take the extra 2 or 3 wins right now.
Just winning that opener against Portland would have us ahead of Memphis? Or half game? nbd. but maybe it will be?

there's a half argument for our inexperienced team that 3 seed is better than 2. will depend on matchups, but if some good team that struggled but is now healthy is that seven (or even 8 seed) that's trouble for us. Of course that team could also come into 6. And if we do our business you want that second home advantage as a 2.

Definitely hope we can somehow land so Phoenix and Warriors (and maybe the Nuggets) all play each other before they play us.

He definitely threw that game and a few others. Wasn't he around for that game where D Russell and the Brooklyn nets came back from like 30 down? That was rock bottom for me

I don't remember that, I think that may have been while I was on vacation though. If it was near the end of the season when all the wheels came off, it was spring break and I was in Mexico with my kiddo.

I liked Joerger a lot but the writing was on the wall once he started leaking he didn't like Bagley and wanted Luka in the middle of the season when we were above .500 and in playoff contention. I mean wtf, who does that?

I really feel like that is the reason so many are still hesitant to embrace this team's winning ways under Coach Brown. But we had a toxic culture with that coach and front office combo, we now have something I think is really special. Players and coach are doing everything for each other. That's why the Gary Gerould thing was so special as well.

Things like this really really go a long way, including Malik Monk choosing us in free agency and now thriving. Talk about building an incredible culture! Just wow.

Yes, Joeger definitely threw that game. I remember mid-game the players started whispering to each other on the sideline (specifically Buddy). The secret was out that Joeger was getting let go. Then Joeger put in all the scrubs the 2nd half for no reason what so ever.

Joeger wanted to make sure the Kings didn't get to the 40 win plateau, which screwed him too. Joeger would of had a nice resume for future employers by taking the Kings to 40 wins. Instead, he chose to burn bridges, which cost Joeger another shot at getting a head coaching job in the NBA.

I was surprised I got pushback on that. (I did link the box score in original post). It shows the starters all had huge +/- stats and 12-14 mins apiece. The bench all had 30+ and huge negative ratings. Unbelievable. .

I saw that game in person. Definitely rock bottom:/
that's why I take it personally. I was scrambling to buy tickets but couldn't find any under $100 so chose to sit home. I was so mad when we were winning I was missing out and then the second half happened. I think if that game thread exists you will see me turn so hard on Joerger about 5-10 mins in.

Actually, you pretty much kept your composure. A couple of comments on the line of "WTF?" and one post where you suggest that Joerger should have gone back to the starters. I'm sure you were steaming inside, though.
