Expecting Holmes to excel at the nuances of the game is not going to work. He can be a bench offense though. We finally saw the push shot last game. Holmes can give a team excellent productivity if used in pnr. Asking him to bang with bigs, set great screens, etc. is the wrong way of looking at him.
The Kings need defense at the center position, not a scorer. Holmes is providing virtually nothing in the "garbage" areas of the game that the Kings desperately need.

Their bench is killing ours: 23-5 difference in 45 vs 38 minutes.

This was always the risk of moving Keegan in the starting lineup. Where will the offense come from; Monk, Davion, TD are all expected to contribute, but they are all struggling. They aren't even trying. Bench has taken 9 shots in their 38 minutes, while theirs has taken almost twice as many.

Yep. Brown has a lot of work to do with our bench. They looked pretty bad.

To be fair, most of the subs were logical. Our 2nd unit down just couldn't buy a bucket to save their lives, that includes the surprisingly hot-n-cold Monk.
It's the timing more than anything. He's trying to steal rest but not in a way that maximizes the shared time of his best unit. That is goal number 1 for a team this shallow at the moment. They have tools on the bench but they're being thrown to the wolves too. Brown obviously thinks this is a team that has basically two legit units and it might in time, right now, nope. The starters have two stars and elite shooting around them. The rest is small guards and a pick and roll PF sized C that isn't running much of his offense.

Supposed to be Monk....but....

TD, Monk and Davion are a combined 1-7
Add in Metu, the bench is 1-9 for 5 points. Memphis bench is 9-17 for 23 points. That's your difference.

For what was supposed to be this team's strength, it's been the biggest disappointment by far to see that unit fail so hard this year. You're getting everything and more you want out of the starters, including a classic HB game (12-3-3 on 5 shots), but the bench needs to follow at some point. Too much invested for it to be this poor.

Brown rotations didn't help either, but I can at least appreciate he's acting with some urgency.
