Hall of Famer
This is summer league. You have to lower your expectations. The players that usually suffer in summer league are big men. They don't have the ball unless the little guys that are trying to score on every play get them the ball. In the Banchero game, his team was constantly feeding him the ball, so he's going to look good. Players like Murray are going to look like they disappear unless the coach actually calls a play for them. I don't worry that much about the results of summer league. I'd like to see Murray do more driving to the basket. His weakness is his handle, so go out there and practice driving into traffic.

When I look at Murray I look a couple of years down the road and see how good he can be. His handle will improve as will the other parts of his game. He might bore you at times, but when was the last time we had a rookie player average around 20 points a game for five summer league games. The future looks bright. His life will be much easier on the parent club with Sabonis, who won't miss those backdoor cuts he makes. By the way, this was one of the worse refereed games I saw. But it is summer league.
He's looked good. He'll be a good complementary piece to Fox and Sabonis. I can see him coming off screens for 3 pointers and getting back-door passes from Sabonis. His rebounding is going to be better than Barnes. I don't know, however, whether I'd say his defense ranks up there with Mikal Bridges. The surprising thing I saw today was him doing a floater in the lane - very impressive. With his buttery touch I wonder if the developmental coaches have considered having him learn a hook shot; it could come in very handy in the post going up against guys taller than him.

He needs to be more aggressive period. If this was a nba game you could scheme him right out of the game. It's fine for a rookie and his role this year as a role player, but he's gonna have to have a more killer attitude if he is going to live up to that 4th pick status. He has all the talent the world to do it, and his attitude screams clutch. So far I'm pleasantly surprised and exiced about the kid. He's going to be a good one.
First sentence isn't true. The thing about Murray is he can't get "schemed out" because he constantly moves and finds smart places to be on the court. You can't scheme against that unless you designste a player to be draped on him at all moments and that just ain't happening when you have Fox and Sabonis and Monk (and Harrison. And Huerter. And Mitchell.)

Murray is gonna get 3 or 4 wide open 3s a game, and guaranteed that will be enough for him to drop 15-17 a night.

Murray looked really weak trying to rebound as a 5 but he looked like he had a heck of an advantage offensively.

His shot was off and he still shot 33% from the outside. Nearly all of his 3s look like they're going in. I'm pretty excited about his shot projection in the NBA.

He's being painfully ignored by the media as well. Quietly having a SL MVP season.

yeah I noticed that. None of the NBA podcasts have mentioned him or Queeta.

He's about to go full-on Twitter KD...how's he finding all these random Twitter posts that have very little interactions?

I'm really optimistic about Fox making an All-Star(type) leap this year. I hope he doesn't break my heart. He played way too good after the trade deadline.

That's my point, I'd like Fernandez to get him more post action. They did finally give him some paint touches and what came next was what came next. My concern is that they only see him as a system guy when at times he might be able to get you buckets on mismatches. I do think a lot of this is based on needs around Fox in preperation of him being a stretch 4, but I think it would be a shame to bypass the skills he does have in the post. As soon as he got to his drop step you could see his comfort level rise.

This isn’t even name searching since “de’aaron” isn’t in there and “fox” isn’t exactly a useful way to find his menchies. Digging thru random obscure kings convos while on his honeymoon is weird but also something I’d probably do now and then if I were him

Sean Cunningham has a really cool interview with Fox up. Fox talks about taking two King’s trainers with he and his wife of his honeymoon. 1-2 hours of hoop training a day and then husband and wife time.

I was exasperated with Fox last year (early season leadership, defensive intensity, lack of a shooting leap). And it made me wish the organization would move on if it could get talent back. But I always liked the dude.

I am actually starting to get excited about his game again.

Which probably means this season is going to be a disaster.
