Well, I just read they can't even acquire someone like Bam because of a rookie extension rule. Ben Simmons might have just cost them even more! lol. Crap, this is all on the Suns now. The west may have just become impossible. We have to see if Riley still has the jedi mind trick down.

In this scenario KD would want to play with someone like Butler I would think. He's smart enough to not go to a team in a lateral move.
Can't always have what you want. Bam is pedestrian compared to Durant. NJ is going to have some say in the matter, and they don't have any time pressure to get it done. So let the bidding begin.

In todays NBA? Haha. If you don't want to be drafted somewhere, tell them. If you want to go somewhere, just say the word, lol. Murray just got dumped for garbage because he wanted out. It's a players league ATM.

The one benefit is KD has pretty much no say. BKN can just take whatever the best package is and go from there.

I'll believe it when I see it. It seems like players get anything and everything they want. If the Nets are Ok with Ayton and picks then I can't see another team beating it without it being a rebuilding squad. Maybe a team with space can find a way to land a Beal/Durant package? Not sure if that would be enough. I'm sure KD wants to play with CP3/Booker.

It’s such a players league, the Nets are assuredly going to take KD’s feelings into account to show the next superstar they have their backs and best interests no matter what.

What’s the next big name going to think about Brooklyn if they just send KD to Sacramento?

Unfortunately, there is some truth to what you say. But as LBJ has seen, you can't just snap your fingers and play with the players you want to play with. Fortunately, there are some limitations to their "powers."

At the same time, who signs a 4 yr/200 mil extension and requests a trade 1 year later? When the root of all problems was your best buddy Kyrie lol.

The Nets bent over backwards to give them whatever they wanted; fired really popular coach Atkinson to bring in there own guy, paid DJ $40mil because he's their buddy. And in the end, they screwed that franchise hardcore and blew up an amazing locker-room culture of an ascending younger team/culture.

What is it with this Monk fascination? He's an undersized off-the-bench scorer, not a starter. And he's certainly not a defender. Two-way player and "Monk" have probably never been uttered in the same sentence. If the Kings get Monk in favor of DDV, they've really screwed the pooch, imo.

I don’t see any realistic way Miami acquired Durant because they can’t trade Adebayo there while Simmons is on the roster. Is an older Jimmy Butler as the headline in a package enough? Phoenix could offer Bridges and then Ayton in a sign-and-trade but Ayton would have to go want to go to Brooklyn.

I don’t think KD will land in his preferred spots.

In a fantasyland, I’d offer one of Fox or Sabonis, Keegan, Barnes, and as many picks and pick swap for KD. I wonder how many teams would actually beat that package.

He's a talent upgrade but at 8-10 million a gamble that's not worth it IMO. If Durant comes out West I think the odds of the Kings hitting reset at the deadline go up. Monte has to plan for that. If he's not, and he ends up gone, that could set this franchise back 2-3 years rebuild wise. If that player is a 3 and D wing type then I'd have more faith that some team will take them off your hands.

And the question is whether trading Butler for him makes any sense for Miami. Butler has done more with his team than KD has with the Nets. No way does KD go to Miami unless it's to play with Butler. The Suns may indeed have this. Then if Ayton doesn't explode with a better role and they are paying 90 million on a role playing wing like Bridges then the Nets are pretty much screwed to mediocrity unless Irving is all in on staying now. Irving/Ayton/Simmons could actually be pretty interesting.

A lot of KD trade ideas getting thrown around. What path do y’all think the Nets now take going forward? With the uncertainty of Kyrie/Simmons and a premium draft in 2023, seems to me they have to go with the flow and do a total reset. I’m not sure how much appeal a Jimmy Butler or other veteran pieces hold which could give the edge to draft pick capital. A lot of wild cards out there. Also, is Sean Marks spiteful?
