Definitely a bummer if we miss out on any deals with Charlotte who seemed an interesting partner but I think Holmes will still have trade value in the offseason or beyond. I know his minutes will be down but he should still be effective as a hustle guy off the bench and he did prove he can start even if he's middle of the road #15 out of 30 starters seems about right.

Yeah, PJ was such a glove fit trade. Incredibly bummed, so high on his development and fit next to Sabonis.

Holmes has had some issues getting back to form from injury, but we can't forget this dude was a legit starter the last 2 years and the first 20 games of this season. And he's signed to an incredibly team friendly deal which isn't going away. I still would like to move him for more roster balance, but keeping good players is never bad.

Harrell going to Charlotte lowers the odds of a Holmes-PJ Washington deal happening.

What do you guys think of buying low on Porzingis if he’s available?
I don't think we can move the right amount of salary but we do have to either cut a few guys or move a 3-1 type deal. So if it was Holmes plus filler there's a lot worse we could do at this point. I think he'd become an albatross but potentially an interesting fit with Sabonis if he never had another health issue.

it sure seems Monte has a small chest of potential off season deals to restock picks or more players. Either way I am pretty sure we were a team that could barely field a quality starting 5 to a team that probably has 8-9 real players. Just gotta work through who they are.

Thomas Bryant is a UFA next year too, but they did just sign Gafford to an extension. They've strangely soured on him though basically removing him from the rotation when Bryant/Trez were healthy.

Gafford-Holmes is a reasonably strong C rotation locked up at a good tag. Clearing out some of their wings could be good.
