Trade Deadline Thread

DDV is an excellent spacer and secondary playmaker while being an outstanding defender. I see 0 fit issues
He is shooting 28% from 3 this year. I get that last year he shot 37% but he has typically been a pretty poor outside shooter (26%, 33%, 37%, 28%). I dont agree that he is an excellent spacer, but the rest of your statement is 100% true. That said, Im hoping its just rust of only playing 17 games and not being in the right spots to shoot, but playing next to Jrue/Giannis/middleton...i dont think spots was the issue (hopefully just rust. I hope you are right though.

I think trading simmons for harden (even giving up curry and draft picks) is worth it for the sixers. They get an elite playmaker and a guy who can and will launch from 3 who also probably has phoned it in massively over the last few months judging by his history in forcing his way out in Houston. You keep your young PG next to him AND your elite (likely All NBA Defensive) 3-D stopper who is DIRT CHEAP. I think it is a big win for both teams.

Throw this season out the window for ddv. It's basically all been injury recovery. He took a huge leap last year and was a an above average starter that was super impactful on both ends

He likes to cut, so should fit with Sabonis. His main strength is defense, so anyhow a good pick-up.

If you have a chance to get a MVP you do it. Not giving out Maxey and Thybull is a plus for them. One concern for Sixer is Harden looked like he checked out in the past couple weeks. Also Harden just doesn't seem to fit with anyone because of his play style.

I'm kind of surprised the Nets weren't able to squeeze either Maxey or Thybulle out of this deal. Not surprised that Morey included FRPs. He's never really built teams with draft picks. The 2022 pick will be in the 20's and the 2027 pick is too far out for him to care about it.
The issue is, i'd almost rather trade Maxey than Seth in this deal though.

Seth is an elite offball shooter while that's like the one part of Maxey's game that hasn't looked awesome.

Right. You put Simmons in the Draymond role and use KD as KD and Seth and Kyrie as Steph and Klay and you've pretty much built the Warriors superteam again.
Yes and no. Draymond can actually defend most bigs and Simmons doesn't have the same strength or low center of gravity - he's more of a perimeter defender. He's also much more of a primary ballhandler/playmaker than Green, who functions as a secondary playmaker in the halfcourt. Draymond also stretches the floor just a bit.

That said, I think Simmons is a better fit than Harden for Irving and Durant. Trying to get three primary scorers to share the ball is much harder than having a clear playmaker and two top tier scorers.

PATIENCE PAID OFF???????????
THE DUDE LITERALLY HAD TO GIVE AWAY THE PACKAGE HE WAS ASKING OTHER TEAMS FOR FOR THE PLAYER HE INCLUDED IN THE TRADE
HOW THE F does he get this narrative ?

Meanwhile the Kings get their top trade target for a good young player but keep all their draft capital, appear to get 3/4 of the best players in a 6 player trade, a pick, and dump the worst contract in the deal and Monte sucks.
also who knows what's what from last night, but however much the team must have been hurting from Haliburton it seems they threw a frickin party that the other two dudes weren't around.
