Fire Walton

Or Vivek, grow a pair. Call Larry Legend up and offer a percentage of the team if you have to. No more bargain basement BS in your FO if they won't pull any of the triggers long overdue to be pulled.
Here's the real issue too. I know Monte went to bat for Walton and that he's "his coach", but I'm also not convinced that this ownership was willing to pay for another fired coach so that was just the public montra. It's on Monte's resume, but this organization cutting corners financially and not willing to do what needs to be done to put a winner has plagued this team since the early 2000's.

Would also love to know if Monte had 100% full control, if he would have blown this team up 2 years ago or if he had the marching orders to keep the team competitive to sneak into the playoffs.

The tinkering with the lineup is maddening. Jahm’ius Ramsey randomly gets 20 minutes then a DNP. Len playing well, DNP. Metu barely saw the floor this week then gets thrown into the starting lineup just as we get back to full strength

Is Walton using “winnable” games to experiment with different lineups? It seemed like in the games we won early on we had a more clearly defined rotation and were sticking with our 7 best guys. And we have a good 7 man rotation, 8 if you include Len. Last few games have been needlessly chaotic in terms of personnel.

This has been Walton's style. He plays into the other team's strength.

I was very puzzled as to why Metu was inserted into the Starting lineup given there wasnt a personnel shortage that mandated it. Fire Walton. Fire him now. Metu? Starting? No.
Drastic changes to your starting lineup by inserting marginal role players has worked so far right? haha. I mean, thank goodness they pushed Marvin Bagley out. That sure fixed things.

Btw if I had to guess a replacement, it’d probably be current assistant Alvin Gentry. That way they don’t have to add new salary to the books and can test out the waters with a viable long-term option.
And that's the thing, if it's about that kind of marginal salary we're talking about then this franchise is screwed anyway. You can pay Harkless 8 million bucks but can't fire or hire coaches making half that? BS if that their thought process. Gentry was a Walton hire, just like you let go a handpicked coach when you fire his GM, a handpicked lead assistant goes with the fired head coach. Otherwise you're leaving loose ends all over the place.

So true. Any time we have any sort of injury to a key player, Walton completely loses what's left of that mind. It's disgusting
