Luke tried to get more touches for Haliburton but in the end, the kid's just not ready for it/in a funk and all it's really done is made our best player less effective.
He's a role guy, it might not be who he is. Some games he can do it but yeah, as a full time gig, no. What a waste of what he is. He happens to be a great off the ball option. Fox creates, Haliburton shoots/creates as a 2nd option. It's so easy on paper.
Barnes said that defense starts with energy, and we haven't shown energy. WHY THE HELL NOT??? They have had plenty of rest. So why no energy? Are they looking for a coaching change already?
To be honest. An energy defense is the one Bobby used in summer league. Pressure, aggression. Walton is again using a defense based more on positioning and timing when it comes to help.
The list of aggressive offensive players that will put pressure on defenses as a natural instinct are Fox, Buddy, somewhat Barnes, and TD. And that's it. Some to a fault BTW but if that's what they are looking for they are looking in the wrong direction here.
Good adjustment folks. Ran Barnes in a pnr, didn't work, ran Fox immediately. Whoever this new coach is, get ready, you might get your shot at some point!
New Walton strategy, he gives his halftime speech before the first quarter, then they lock him in a locker for halftime and play like themselves after.
