[Game] Kings vs. Hornets 2/28/21, 7pm PST, 10pm EST

Tonight for most of the game the D wasn't bad. They stuck to more of an up front aggressive defense. They did overhelp at times and gave up open 3's that the Hornets didn't hit but if they play this way on both ends they won't totally suck. It still goes back to the fact that no matter what they do, this coach is going to make what is easy darn near impossible because he just plain sucks at this. He really, really does. haha. He has no grasp on who you play, at what times they play, and how they play matters.

We

Bagley is the tank commander.

They weren’t though. Luke always had some combination of Holmes/Bagley/Bjelica/Barnes out there in two-big lineups. But apparently Holmes and Bjelica are completely inculpable in regards to Washington dropping a billion points.
In fairness to Bags he was plus 28 while CoJo was minus 20 in 16 minutes. But CoJo didn’t miss clutch free throws and Bagley’s defense has been pretty horrific so it’s not really too far off.

maybe he did.
mcnair: send a memo to luke. lose this game and continue the tank at all costs.
luke: ok guys, they're gonna foul you and send you to the line. you know what to do. fade4cade
Hahaha, unfortunately the Pistons game proves there is no memo. Just really awful decision making that doesn't bite you depending on how lucky you were as a coach that particular night.

I just rewatched a very condensed version of the game. I counted at least 19 of PJ's points coming against a defender other than Bagley. Also, if you want to feel better about Marvin's defense, watch PJ's "defense." Even the Bed Headed Serb™ shook him out his shoes.
PJ's defense does leave a little to be desired. One of the other decisions the Hornets went with that paid off was going small with him at center. They got great shots even if they didn't hit them. The Kings will stay big, big, and big against teams and plenty of times that's when the lead goes poof.

Fine forget it lets tank. I'm over it. But can we at least do it right and dev some of our young guys and cut cojo and fire walton please. I can't go on like this
It's really easy. Trade Barnes/Buddy/Bjelica (possibly Holmes, but would prefer to keep), glue CoJo to the bench and throw Guy/Woodard/DQJ to the wolves with real roles on a consistent basis.

Honestly if we cut CoJo/traded all the old dudes and fired Walton, we’d win more games.
There comes a buyout point and no, a draft pick won't salvage it once the players buy out. If they want to lose, OK, I get it but you have to have someone in charge like they have in Detroit where you can fool your team well enough to know that you aren't sandbagging them. This ain't the guy. Maybe Gentry is. He's been the guy a lot of teams seemed to go with in transition and outside of nearly ruining Buddy at his start he was starting to make that right prior to the Cuz trade.
