Something that isn't Luke's fault: we don't respond to what the defense gives us. On that Barnes post up when they ran that curl for Bogi, Giles was WIDE OPEN at the free throw line. Instead of sticking to the play, take the open shot at the free throw line. Why do you have to run the play all the way through if the defense is giving you an open scoring opportunity? Just overall poor BBIQ.

A month ago, I would have said I'd watch ANY live basketball games....not sure I'd stick with that now. This is just painful to watch.
This is why you can let games like that Spurs debacle happen on a team without a solid foundation yet. I expect a different team after half time but all those little drips lead to a flood and the margin for error is like 1 game. That's a lot of pressure.

Opposing teams are content to double off the screen and roll or pressure high. Especially when Buddy is running it. Only a moron can't get open looks off of that.
Yeah, the quality of PnR defense in the league now is laughable to the point where it's just embarrassing if you can't execute a PnR consistently to score.

DId you see the way CP3 and Adams used the PnR yesterday to eat up the Jazz defense? Beautiful

If Buddy doesn't come out shooting daggers from deep in the second half, I'm sliding over to the trade him camp. He talked the talk before the restart, and he hasn't shown up at all.

Everytime a player made a positive contribution Luke took them out of the game. First Brewer. Then Bazemore. Then Giles. Lead went from 17 to 25 at one point. Does he not see the things we see?

Yep, and truthfully the rules are so fubar that you can exploit it all day. In fact, every good team does! Buddy Hield in a two option easy quick hitting play early is the only play I've seen teams respect enough to adjust their zones to. Any coach would keep running that until the wheels fall off instead of side to side motion when you're players are shook. That will also cut down on turnovers.

He's usually good at keeping from going full on by the seat of his pants, but when it happens oh my, is it glorious! haha.

When your team is playing this bad why is Luke Walton just stone faced? Dave Joerger was like a maniac on the sidelines. Every coach is different but show me something, anything!
He wants to be Phil Jackson - in terms of his demeanor - sooooo bad, and it’s pathetic.

His post training camp interviews already let me know where this thing could be headed. He always has this attitude of “hey, we’ll see what we can do” instead of just saying we actually WANT to get into the playoffs and will stop at nothing to do so.

This roster has taken on the personality of their head coach and damn near everyone is lax and carefree. For a young team that’s never sniffed any real success in this league, that is NOT the kind of energy we need to have. Period.

Maybe he wants to be traded?
I don't think it's the issue here, that Spurs finish is, but long term the Buddy/Bogdan either/or may unnecessarily leave a future GM with a very untenable situation and hard to move contracts. You can't split their minutes and expect the production you're paying for.

If you're cool and carefree you better have the track record and playbook to back it up. Again, the wheels fell off going away from the identity the stats say this team should be cultivating (small, 5 out, middle clear) and they fell off in the final quarter of the last game. It's just trickling over to this one which makes it look much worse than it is.

It will be interesting to see what Walton does to start the 3rd. Go big and try to pound your way back in early? Or go full tilt and gun it? Common sense always says gun it, but he's made his bed so he might just lie in it.

Calm and cool Luke must have some killer half time speeches.
