what did he do wrong there? he stayed in front of him, contested the shot, and did not foul. Deng made floater over the defensive position and raised hand. I'm asking seriously, what should he have done different?
He didn’t even attempt to pick him up until he was three feet away from the hoop?

If Joerger sticks with the same lineup the game is over.

They can play better than they did and there are ways to take advantage of having two athletic bigs at the same time. My main issue with Bagley and Willie is the Kings system doesn't really allow them to take advantage of it. With the Kings it's more of a faceup skill position. If they want to stick with that unit there are some plays they can put in rather quick. I would look back into some of the playbook of Byron Scott when he was with the Nets. They ran a lot of misdirection lob plays from the corner and K-mart made max dollars from doing it. Many of those same plays could be run for Willie down on the baseline as Bagley is drawing attention in the mid-range. Get behind the defense.

I don't watch every team, but I would find it hard to believe there are many coaches that are slower to respond to game conditions.
I think Dave simply does it because it’s the “plan” and the in game conditions are irrelevant to his pre-determined timing of substitutions. That has to be it. He subs and manages minutes for a young group like he has an older group. Fox’s kneecaps will fall off if he is stretched to closer to 40 minutes on the occasion he’s the only one making things happen. Better to watch Willie aimlessly stand in the high post contemplating one of his priceless drives or a pass while the pace, efficiency, and the lead dies

And since he came up on peoples radar as the coach with the most lineups in a season with Memphis he's always seemed like it's a goal to beat his personal best. Dave is the master of "this is the lineup", and the very next game it's different. lol.

I liked the ball movement, higher iq play with Bogi in the starting lineup. Tonight I've seen the ball sticking too much and too much iso play. Team has to play fast.
