Frustrating game. Most the team played terribly, yet it never got out of reach until the end.

Have to respond next game. Have to.

As long as Giles learns from this game I’ll accept it. He’s done nothing to prove he won’t.
Lets hope one of the things he learns is he needs to eat more and stay in the weight room! gotta strengthen up, there are colossally strong players lurking in the backup C depth charts of NBA teams.

Tough when u just beat them a couple days ago. I figured we’d lose this
We also played them on the back end of a back2back and they were without Parker.

I’m concerned that our past 3 wins were against exhausted teams that were also without key players. And when we play teams at full strength and rest, we have a dud like today (and Phoenix).

We need to sharpen up our play and start making adjustments as teams are playing us straight up and exposing our interior defense and rebounding

This game made it very clear we need an Otto Porter in our lives. Shump has been bad since the beginning of 2019, Bjeli hot start ended months ago, and JJ isn't ready to handle starter minutes. To compensate we are attempting to play three guards (which is not the best use of our talent). Again we need a true SF that can shoot, play d, and compete on the road.

Was there any imprint on the game? (Half joking as he’s been better lately with consistency)

14 feet of low motor/weak paint presence. At least WCS has some supporters still where they are, but Beli brings no presence and there isn’t a sliver of question if he’s a cog in the future. Start Marvin (and I’d prefer a trade for a C if Giles ain’t ready)

checked the box score and saw Hornets had 43 second quarter points....yup that ought to bury you. What's the Kings record when not scoring 100?

Bogi just goes through stretches where it looks like he forgets how to play basketball, which contrasts greatly with the 75% of the time when he does play his game.
Bogi not fast enough to guard Monk.
Hornets are iso-ing up on Bogi every chance they get.
Bogi playing hero ball on one end, not playing much on the other end.
Bogi played great defense for the first 22 seconds of the shot clock and no defense for the last two seconds.
I think we know why we lost this game! Bogi!

It was jet-lag city. They just didn't have the energy. It was very apparent with Fox. He pushed the ball only once during the entire game. I don't understand why they didn't fly to Charlotte yesterday as opposed to today, but they must have a good reason. The only experience I've had similar to what they did was when I was in my 20s (in good shape) and flew from L.A. to Atlanta and on the same day in Atlanta played basketball with my friend in a pick-up game. Man, I was tired.

No excuses for the Detroit game. They better be primed and ready because Blake Griffin isn't going to be taking another night off.

Sigh. His play in the second half of the game didn't singlehandedly lose us the game but it certainly wasn't helping matters.

Almost every single Hornets possession in the fourth quarter stretch where they increased their lead and pretty must won the game involved Tony Parker running a simple rub play with Bogi's man and the chaos that ensued as Bogi either switched onto the wrong guy or simply had a bad defensive possession. On offense, Bogi was absolutely fantastic in the first half but then went into hero ball mode in the second half.

Overall, the rebounding battle was probably a bigger factor in the loss but it's harder to forgive two rookies for not being strong enough to muscle up Willy Hernangomez than it is to excuse Bogi for playing like a rookie.

Guilty of this on the rare occasions that I watch games live, but at least my reasoning is that when the games going well I'm up and enjoying myself and not on the board. It's when things are bad that you turn to the board to vent.
This has been me of late. When the Kings are winning I'm watching the game. When the Kings are losing, I'm trying to distract myself with the boards.
