The "Dark Forces" at work in the Kings FO Thread

#1
So with Pete moving on "kinda/sorta" news and then conjoining that with the last Scott Moak fiasco. Lets, during this down time talk about the elephant in the room.... still.

OK SO

The last years of the Maloofs were a franchise nightmare. Followed up by a rich "know it all" owner Vivek (which is honestly all owners especially in the beginning). Today we were all hit during a lull news time that Pete was A) stepping down B) fired or C) being relocated to a new position.

In numerous social media this has only been rehashed that the Kings will be KINGZ. I wanna argue against this. So come as you will, Carmichael Dave weighed in already so should you.

Im not personally in the Kings organization. I don't know anyone that is. HOWEVER. I think everyone is overreacting to the news and its time to discuss something that continues to come up

I heard Chris Granger brought up today. Guys... Anyone who thinks he was in it for the long haul hasn't seen his resume on LinkedIn. He was The Absolute Best an organization could have done when it came to what he did well. So keep in mind... Seriously think about it ... he was The best. This guy was a savant at his job. He hit HR after HR while he was here. He truly got the Kings moving in the right direction in his focus.

Then he left... of course rumors kicked in. Vivek played his "Dark Forces" role and blah blah blah. Again Chris Granger the person. He's gonna go explode somewhere else now and make way more money. He's a situational guy everyone. One of the best. He was always looking to move on a bigger deal (which he deserved)

Im skipping most of the other FO stuff btw. But one other was then Mark Bratz. Another media ? Pete the freakin gerbil brought him in. Yes he had techanlly been apart of the team going WAAAAAYYY back. However It wasn't as assistant or even GM. Due to the timing we all we left guessing (honestly me too). Heres the timing. Vlade and Co. have actually for once moved in and made it their own. Shocker.

The Scott thing was weird at first. BUT....Then I heard they actually hired someone to do what he had fallen into during the Maloof days. Its not like he was actually a specialist at the outreach stuff . Don't get me wrong, but the Kings have actually taken a very public stance on some hot topic issues (which Positivly pushed them to the for front of America and I Love that... thanks Vivek,Temple, and Vince Carter after that police shooting) At the end of the day he's still working with the Kings. SO... WTF? are the Kings so actually so terrible/awful and hard to stand that even after so much out cry over his maybe departure he decided to stay? hmm...................... maybe there were some feelings hurt? He was in fact just demoted to just doing his first job with the Kings.......................

Then today.
Pete moved aside. Guys.. He had been with the Kings for a long time. To be the "head guy" is some $%(T it's a dog eat dog world dealing with human bodies and science. He's not gone according to what I've heard. I follow one of the main Kings trainers and we are rolling out some cutting edge stuff. Seems like it was a good time for him to let someone else take over and it seems its mutual.

This franchise, no doubt has had to deal with a lot of nonsense. Its still just settling down. Lets allow them that. Sacramento isn't LA and yes people have had serious ties to the people in the Kings FO for some time and feelings are gonna be hurt and it will feel cold at times. But its moving forward... and finally in the positive direction and the fact this guy "Pete is still on the pay role" seems like a good middle ground . Have Faith

There's indeed a dark force as long as people keep leaving or getting reassigned yet Grant Napear stays as on board and obnoxious as ever.

The thing I've found about conspiracy theories is one reason they tend to go on is that no one wants to point out how ludicrous it all is, and open yourself up for a troll blast in return. Since we're a civilized board here, I'm going to take a chance. This is ridiculous. We're about to start the most exciting-looking season is way too long and you're looking under rocks for monsters? You need to spend less time on social media.

Q-Annon has pointed out repeatedly that Chemtrails over both practice facility and the management offices clearly contain heavy metals that are capable of both sending and receiving radio signals. There's obvious mind control going on here the question is who's behind it. Sources close to Alex Jones speculate that the culprits May well be Chinese investors in a rival NBA team working through shell companies and puppet investors. Another theory found on a reliable source at 4Chan is speculating that this is actually a plot being operated collateraly by those seeking to usurp power from Silver and his cohorts and Rogue elements within both FEMA and Homeland Security. For updates wrap your phone in tin foil sit in a darkened room and wait for more info! I can't see anymore now I hear them coming...

Agree, I am open to entertain to a good conspiracy theory if someone has one to present. This is not even that. It is rambling nonsense.

Were you taking about my initial post? Cause im just saying im not buying that the kings are this epic off the rails disaster that the national media continues to put out there. I was arguing that some of the more recent changes were just actually fine and and not more signs of the Kings being dysfunctional. People even in the Sacramento area were over exaggerating them.

The "Dark forces" was in regards to a what a sports writer said via tweet about the Kings FO after the news about Pete. He meant that the Kings are still a dysfunctional mess.

I don't actually or literally believe in Dark Forces haha.

Thanks for clearing that up. Of course the national media is going to stick with the story that the Kings are a dysfunctional mess, because they're too lazy to do their own research, or don't have the financial means to pay much attention to the "less important" teams. Also, that story appeals to fans of other struggling teams, because they can say "At least I'm not a Kings fan." So the national media has an interest in perpetuating the myth. Things won't change until the Kings force the rest of the world to notice what is going on here now (not yesterday).

Pete Youngman is taking the first step toward retirement? There must be a sinister plot. The truth is boring, but the sinister plot is exciting, so that's the story we're going with. It doesn't matter if the story is ludicrous, we're in the business of generating page views. I'm getting really tired of that, and so I jumped at the 'Dark forces' title.

There is another term for dark forces, Office Politics. The Kings might simply not be top priority for the faction deciding things. The development around the arena is at least partly fueled by what is going on in the arena. The Kings represent maybe 15% of the available dates. The Kings could simply be the cost/catalyst for the rest of the development, the development where the money will be made.

How about simply: bad leadership begets bad leadership? This is about an owner + ownership group who's enabled a business leader who has been the common denominator on a bad basketball team and dysfunctional organization. It's not dark forces, it's not a conspiracy, it's just a bad owner and it all trickles down from there. Happens all the time in the business world. Nothing will change until changes at the top are made, plain and simple... plenty of books to read on that one.

Hard to pin this on the "national media," though, unless Carmichael Dave got a promotion I haven't heard about yet.

If you believe the conspiracy theory QAnon plays against the Deep State. I hear he can nail the corner three. :p
:D
According to the OIG report, he was one-and-done. Probably should have stayed another year.
