not sure these types of minutes are any more helpful to the kids than the Summer League was. Taken together, they are incompetent.

its not all his fault of course, as his arrival signalled us going back to SL, but you don't see this very often:

Papa
7min opts oreb 0ast 0stl 0blk 0TO 2fls -20

Skal is sitting at a -19 himself

of course vet Temple is at a -31 trying to guide the deepest bench.

New coach, new system, plenty of new players, and yet we still fall apart in the 4th and against an awful team. But we should know that we can't really expect things to turn around over night.

Although, I'm sure this won't be the lineup we roll out normally during the 4th quater of the regular season.

my sports computer game instincts are kicking in...couldn't I just gather up 3 or 4 of these non-performing assets and trick the computer into trading me just one more solid scoring bench vet with them? :p

well, I'm still choosing to see this as a positive outing. the rotation, and in particular the starters, looked good/solid.

the kids though...still miles away. And to think some people wanted to dump Cousins and watch, or rather not watch, a whole season of that kind of crap. No no. Off to Reno you go.

I didn't find a feed till the 3rd quarter - holy hell, this lineup (even Casspi who stunk up the court against backups) is an eyesore.
I'd rather not see this Kings lineup ever again.

Vivek had better hope to hell these guys aren't going to be relied on very often....

I wish I could say otherwise, but Papa doesnt belong. So much work to do. Low ceiling, very low floor.
The thing continues to be on defense that he moves ok, and he tries to challenge. He gets his arm up, but somehow it was this way in international ball too -- he never gets them. I don't think he's especially lacking length but he's always short and opponents use his hand more as a guide than an impediment. Its not a lack of effort or even really a lack of mobility. Somehow its a lack of about 3 inches seemingly. He just never gets the block, and guys shoot lights out over a big arm you think would distract them at least.

It is bizarre. He's usually in the right position but I don't know if I've seen him get a hand on a shot yet. It's the one thing that gives me hope-he tends to be in the right spot on o and d so perhaps we the game slows down for him just a little, those inches will matter

Offense was nearly as bad as defense. The system running through him didnt help. He lacks decisiveness and perhaps decision making. Slow.
