they were there and then they weren't. Lack of discipline, Demarcus complaining about everything and anything, running around like headless chickens on defense, Ben useless, Kyle Anderson.

I don't see the OKC game as winnable if both KD and Westbrook are playing.

LAC is beatable, especially if Crawford, JJ and Rivers have a bad shooting night.
Come on man

Just recapping a play that stood out.

WCS steal and the finish with his left hand was just insane. He made it look so effortless. He's a monster in the making.
The fact that he's already hitting 10ft jumpers in games is not only outstanding but scary. The fact that he's taking them even if it's only 2 per game shows his confidence. If he works at it he can have it down by next year.

I got out of my seat and gave him a standing O for that.
There was no hesitation with him either. That's what makes it great. As a big man, they normally seem to pause in transition and not know what to do with it. It was like WCS was gliding thru air and finished with his off hand. Just one of the more impressive plays I've seen him make and he made it look effortless.

And what's great about WCS is the form of his jumper. It looks very smooth and he looks to have great touch with his shot. It feels as if he is going to be a DeAndre Jordan type player, but he'll be able to shoot and make free throws.

Is Rivers hurt? Or is he going to be the scrub to have a career night against the Kings?

Go check the stats for Acy and WCS.

Their minutes were FAR more effective than any of their replacements, yet they only played 23 and 18 minutes (!) respectively.
The fact that Willie's been playingSO WELL recently - showing good offensive skills and the team offense gets better with him on the floor, yet he's only averaged 18 minutes a game the past 3 games is a travesty.

If I were in the Kings FO, I would call Karl in and force him to explain why he's not playing Willie more.
He may get away with defying the media's request for an explanation, but he'd better be damned sure of having to answer to the front office for it.

That's if, like, the front office was actually doing any work this year.

The Spurs are just really accomplished at what they do. It has been developed for years. They don't break down and they are relentless for the entire game. We were competitive for about two quarters. If we stick with a system and coach for more than a year we might have a chance.

I'm glad to see Cauley-Stein is having more confidence in his jump-shot. Looks like it has some promise. If he gets that down, a Cauley-stein/Cousins front court should be perfect compliments going forward.

Belinelli shouldn't be getting any minutes at this point. Anyone who supports Karl's coaching ability needs to take a long look at his decisions regarding Belinelli. I'm sure Belinelli is embarrassed by his play, but to me, it's even more embarrassing how much Karl is playing him.

This off-season, I'd really like us to dump Belinelli for cap space, pull off a Koufos/McLemore for Gibson/Snell trade, resign Rondo, and sign Bazemore (or Lee or Crabbe) & Aldrich. As Cauley-Stein continues to improve that jumpshot, I feel more and more comfortable with moving forward with Rondo as our PG.

PG - Rondo (36 min)/Collison (12 min)/Curry
SG - Bazemore (28 min)/Collison (14 min)/Casspi (6 min)/Anderson
SF - Gay (30 min)/Casspi (18 min)/Snell
PF - Cauley-Stein (18 min)/Gibson (26 min)/Gay (4 min)/Acy
C - Cousins (36 min)/Cauley-Stein (12 min)/Aldrich

Cousins - 36 min
Rondo - 36 min
Gay - 34 min
Cauley-Stein - 30 min
Bazemore - 28 min
Collison - 26 min
Gibson - 26 min
Casspi - 24 min

Not sure what we realistically could expect here. Spurs are a top 10 team regular season team all-time right now with some of the best defensive numbers ever on top of it. Which is especially impressive in this era of the 3-ball and super pace.

Just kind of shows how far away we are from actually being a championship contender. The Spurs are an especially good one but still... Long way to go.

The Kings had to play a flawless game to beat the Spurs. Then the Spurs went on the 16 to 5 run to end the 2nd quarter and a 15 to 2 run to start the 4th quarter. That Spurs defense only allows their opponents to score 92.7 points per game on average. That Spurs defense is like a machine. The Kings started a couple of small runs then Pop would call a timeout and regroup. Pop is perhaps the best at in game Coaching there has been in the NBA.

Quincy and Willie were amazing as Aldridge scored only 7 points. Cousins started the game out shooting blanks but he came around and finished with 22. I love Cousins though in this game there was no place for hanging back arguing the lack of foul calls with the Referees. The Kings SG's scored 5 points and I'm not including Collison in this because he is a PG playing out of position. Playing a team as good as the Spurs you need more than 5 points from the SG position.

In the end the Kings did not shoot the ball well enough to compete with the Spurs. Credit the Spurs defense and the Kings SG's propensity to shoot off balance shots time after time after time after time after time...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

I thought the Kings played well through 3 quarters considering Cousins was useless on offense for two of them.

The same problem as always ended up rearing it's ugly head. Teams killed them with screens and the Kings still can't run a proper screen to save their lives. Patty Mills got shot after shot just simply running off of simple screens. Watch that and then watch the Kings go down the floor with Collison either going way around his screen or going the wrong way...thus leaving the screen absolutely useless.

By the way, I know they've still given up a ton of points in the three games after the all star break but I think the defense looks much improved now. With the switching and guarding of the mid range for no reason...there was absolutely no hope they could ever become even an average defensive team. No matter how much they mastered that crappy philosophy. Now they at least have a direction they can go in. I don't expect massive improvements but at least the defensive scheme doesn't seem so hopeless anymore.
