That's really hard to believe because the players do it every single game on every single play. I'm going to go ahead and call Karl a liar on this because it's clearly part of his defensive scheme, you know the one that let Collison guard Nowitizki in crunch time.

looks like we're constantly playing some screwed up version of a zone defense. How bout making some adjustments or completely changing this so called
"scheme"? He's been coaching for 40 damn years and can't think of something else? please.

He says that Cunningham, Davis and Cole didnt shot the 3 well before the game. He admits that the pick and roll defense lead to open 3s. Later he says that for him the first priority will always be containing the basketball and stopping takes to the basket, then covering the 3.

He only played 7mins tonight in the beginning of the game. He was pulled when the game was around 10-10 tied.. never came back after that.

Ben's bench cheering IQ is too low. His lack of aggressive towel waiving clearly cost us tons of open threes.

Doesn't that prove that the game has passed him by? This is a 3 point shooting league and Karl insists on stopping the ball from getting to the basket first, ultimately ending up in someone being wide open for a 3.

In some way yes. What I don't agree with is that he makes it seem like you have to choose on or the other. The Bulls defense proved for many years that you can stop the ball from going to the rim while also not giving up open 3s. The trick is to not even get in to a scrambling situation where you have to chose between giving up a lay up and a 3. But we're in such a situation after every pick and roll because every time we need a third defender to help and leave his man.

We have an excellent pick and roll defender in WCS , we just don't use him . Sigh

He played, what, seven minutes last night? Hard to say he was a primary culprit.

Maybe you can say indirectly, because he doesn't add much on offense so Karl plays Belli (a defensive disaster instead).

But I'd look more to Gay (-19) and Rondo (-17)...
