Fact is Ben didn't get more than 10 minutes tonight for damn good reason. He wasn't contributing enough to the team to earn anymore time. Karl showed no faith by dispatching him to the bench where stayed put entire second half. So not only are many Kings fans on McLemore but the coach seems to agree. McLemore deserve the heat, maybe it will wake him up somehow or we just have to hope that gets it one day, actually plays like an NBA starting 2-guard. Otherwise lots of DC, Marco, Caron, Anderson - for the time being.
These two statements are incongruous; if he didn't play, what does he "deserve" heat for? And, why should we agree that the solution is to play guys who are playing just as poorly or worse than he is?

I hate to stir up the rumor mill but I couldn't help but wonder why Cousins never returned to the bench if it was just a sore achilles? Usually if a player doesn't have a serious injury you'd see him back on the bench and you'd know Cousins would love nothing more than to support his team in beating Flop City. Could be making mountains out of sore achilles...i pray that's all it is.
Have you ever had a sore achilles? It's almost impossible to walk. They may have quite possibly wanted him in the whirlpool or with ice or whatever temporary treatment they could do.

He didn't play more than 10 minutes because Karl prefers to play him with Cousins and Gay. Cousins was out. Plain and simple. During crunch time, Ben hasn't been in during any of the games because Karl prefers to play his veterans. Which is the same reason WCS wasn't in.

Why did we let Griffin kill us down the stretch for the 2nd time in a week going against Rudy or Kosta instead of putting Big Willie on him?

All this talk about Ben.... it wasn't their perimeter players who killed us, it was Griffin. I'm far more concerned with Karl going back to the same strategy which failed a few days ago. That was the matchup we had to answer to.

Our lack of SG production is hurting though. It's leading to too much DC/Rondo together.

We were right there against an arguable top 5 team, 2nd night back to back, no Cuz 2nd half. Against LAL and most of the 1st half tonight, we strung together 6 pretty good quarters.

**** those refs.
There's no room for a reasonable post in here; try again on Tuesday.

To be fair, he didn't play many minutes because he wasn't playing particularly well. Which doesn't mean we don't need patience or that we have a better option

I feel like this post needs to be repeated a few times. It seems as though people who want to scapegoat McLemore don't want to believe that those of us who don't want to scapegoat McLemore don't actually believe that he's playing well; we just don't think that he's the source of all the team's problems.

We also generally think that we don't necessarily have a better option to replace him with, which doesn't also make our bench unit worse.

I am a man of many talents.

I agree with this. But that's not what you said the first time. What you said was something that was not actually true; it wasn't even a reasonable exaggeration.
I do remember JT putting a couple dunks back every now and then, but for the most part, he did not spend much time above the rim at all.

Nah. Ben didn't start the second half because Cousins was out. Karl went with DC and Rondo to get extra scoring. It's the same thing he was going to do if Gay missed the opener when his baby was born. If Cousins was in, Ben would had another 8 minutes and would have been on the bench in crunch time just like the other games.

He didn't sit because he was hurt.
There wasn't some family emergency.

He earned his spot on the bench because he sucked. Didn't show up. Didn't perform. Whatever you want to call it.

Pretty damn sure our game plan tonight did not involve pulling our STARTING 3rd year shooting guard after 10 miserable minutes.

DMC got hurt. We had to make adjustments. That's what the bench is for.

We shouldn't need to make adjustments for the rest of the game for a healthy 22 year old. We need guys who are ready to play.

Actually, yes I have and I still deal with it but I don't have 65 mil and a franchise load to carry on it, so no one gives a crap. Just thought it was strange is all, most likely it's nothing. It's halloween man let me be scared for a day.

I think we can all agree that Ben needs to step up.

I'm just still really hesitant to trade Ben. He has so much potential, and I think the SGs we can get for him isn't particularly a nice list.
Robert Covington - Injured but has a high ceiling like Ben
Anthony Morrow - Consistent spot up shooter, but a bit below average on D. (would make Ben look like 1st team D)
Andre Roberson - No offense whatsoever, but a great defender
Thabo Sefolosha - Has aged and his offense has regressed, he's still a good defender
Avery Bradley - Only 24 with a decent offense, and a decent defense. (regressed)

Pick your pill!

edit: I know a lot of people have asked for K-Mart, but I think his terrible defense would get us in a lot of trouble. The only player who seemed to be able to keep up with Reddick tonight was Ben.

We almost beat The Clippers at home without Cuz for half the game and people are complaining?

We're already as spoiled as circa 2008 Lakers fans.
This is what it comes down to. We played well in an away game without our best player for half the game. A few mistakes at the end, but we had a chance to win.

I'm only going to work 10 hours total next week.
We will definitely be below our sales target as a team but that's not my fault right, slim.
Why should I held accountable? I'm only working 25% of my expected work load. That shouldn't put unnecessary pressure on anyone.. ::rolls eyes::

My mom's hairstylist's milkman knows a guy who drove by staples center around half time, and HE said it wasn't a sore achilles OR a completely fabricated locker room incident pulled out of thin air at all. HE heard that Cousins ate a piece of Halloween candy that was stuffed with razorblades and ecstasy, handed out by a guy that looked suspicisiosly a lot like Elvis but if he was born in Kenya...the one who lives in that house on the grassy knoll just outside of Roswell Nevada...may have even been an inside job.

He also heard Ben was secretly coaching the team in the final minutes after having paid off the refs to throw the game in favor of the Clippers. I guess he's really racked up some gambling debts on account of his out of control American Girl doll obsession. He just needs Felicity's 1997 Special Edition outfit.

True story.
