The Kings have agreed to a multi-year deal with guard James Anderson, a source told Yahoo Sports.
Really hoping that's a min deal. He's a volume three-point shooter who hits at .330 for his career. Only 25 but still.

Let's put it this way - San Antonio didn't give him the fourth year on his rookie deal and then dealt him away. I'm not sure there's much there. As a side note, he was already listed as a member of our Summer League team.

If it's for the minimum, it's a dumb move. You can sign minimum deals when you're over the cap. Why would you waste cap space by signing minimum deals while you have cap space? Would be ludicrous.

Anyways, I don't believe you can have multi-year veteran minimum deals so this is all moot anyway,
True that it's better to sign those deals at the end, but sometimes those players won't be there at the end either. Being that Sacramento is not the most desirable destination right now we got to get guys while we can.

It'll be interesting to see how much he gets, but I like his game. He was pegged as a 3 and D wing coming out of Oklahoma State. The kid is still decently young. I think he could surprise a few people. Put up decent numbers last year. We could have worse bench players in my opinion.

Again, we'll have to see how much we gave him, but looking at just the player, I like his game and I like the type of player Vlade went after.

Actually, since there's a cap hold for open roster spots, filling that cap hold with a minimum contract has very little effect on our cap space. If we really love James Anderson and want to make sure he doesn't get away (OK, that's a hard sell) then getting him early makes a bit of sense and doesn't really hurt.

Yes, you can do multi-year veteran minimum deals. However, these deals are not eligible for the small reimbursement form the league that one-year vet min deals get.

No one is signed just yet. It just a handshake agreement. Actually even the trade everyone is obsessing about is not going to become a reality until the end of Moratorium.

Kings just acquired top-2o pick...from 2010 :D (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/a/anderja01.html)

I don't understand this signing??
He was drafted by the Spurs in 2010 and played 49 minutes of playoff basketball for them.

Savvy veteran type who has been there and done that. He's seen things that Kings players can only imagine. We're going to need his playoff experience and leadership this year.

Rem the moratorium is still on, so nobody is actually signing anybody yet. We can announce our intention to do this and stil have every ounce of our cap room to chase bigger fish until the moratorium ends and we are forced to honor the committments.

hi guys.
Last year James Anderson played in Lithuania and Euroleague, which is the strongest European league.

He was one of the best player in Euroleague. Clutch player and hard worker - not only on the offence but on the defence as well. Quite common in the highlights ;)
I think he can be really competitive, maybe even as the 6th player.
some stats from Euroleague:

When you say the strongest European League you mean Euroleague right? because Lithuania is not that great...

I wasn't really impressed by him from what I saw, but I'm no scout- and I admit of seeing fairly small amounts of games and not being focused on him.

I wish him good luck, and hopefully he can develope into a good rotation guy...

Has good size for a wing, seems like a good defender, a streaky 3 point shooter it seems. A professional thatss made the rounds, will work hard. My guess the wing on the team if Ben and Casspi are hurt or are playing bad. Essentially he can give us what D-Will gave us without the stupid and added professionalism.

While James has all the tools the guy was given so many chances with the Spurs and failed miserably and was just so so with the Sixers not really sure atm about this signing but it's a bad omen when the Spurs give up on a player in particular a guy they drafted they literally let him go for nothing unlike George Hill. I would have liked to give a guy who more potential a shot if this is just a depth thing.

Anyway welcome James Anderson hopeing you can bring some stability to the squad.
