Kings trade JT, Nik and Landry to Sixers (renamed)

Why did Green fall of a cliff in the playoffs this year? He struggled with his shot and wasn't that good on the defensive end. Can he reach the fantastic level of the 2013 and 2014 Finals again?
I like the idea of aquiring Green, cause he can defend SG's and some SF's, so that we get some lineup flexibility, if we keep Ben and maybe Nik around too.

Go big with DMC, JT/WCS, Gay, Green, DC or go small with DMC, Gay, Green, Ben/Nik, DC....I like it!
Maybe get another defensive minded player at PG and we are pretty much set for the next season.
Rondo on a short term deal is a decent choice with this roster. A guy like Schröder (or if possible Smart) would be awesome. And even Corey Joseph should serve well enough.

Finally someone else is giving Mr. Joseph some love! ;)

Would love to bring him aboard. Collison and Joseph would be a very underrated PG tandem that would be on very friendly deals.

You are not the only one:
While I agree that the kind of player we want to get is very rare and high priced, the flip side is that there is only so much we can improve without pushing Ben out of the lineup (or making a drastic change in the lineup which I see as intertwined).

Let's go (realistic) best case scenario here: we stretch Landry's contract, Draft a nice PF (WCS/Porzingis), snag a good back-up PG like Cory Joseph in RFA, solidify our back-up Center with one of the (realistic) FA bigmen out there (Wright/Biyombo/O'Quinn/Ed Davis/Ajinca) and get some more wing depth with let's say Will Barton. now your team looks like this:

PG- Collison, Joseph, RayMac
SG- Ben, Barton, Nik
SF- Gay, Casspi
PF- WCS, JT, Moreland
C- Cousins, Ajinca

Now that will be hard to achieve (to get all of them with our cap space won't be an easy task) but this lineup is definitely better than the one we have now, the question though is if it's good enough- and I'm torn on this part.
That's from April 7th, I stand by that script- but if Danny Green really is available it's a definite improvement.

Joseph will sit tight until Aldridge situation is resolved, unless someone offers him MLE-sized contract. Kings don't have that kind of money to throw at him at the start of the process. Spurs might trade Mills with Diaw, and then Joseph is a lock to return.

Green is going to be too rich for our blood. He's got a lot of suiters, and someone is bound to throw a lot of money at him. I am warming to the idea of Rondo more and more. As long as we don't overpay for him. There aren't a lot of teams interested in him.

I'm very much aware that we might not get him. After all, it is a two way street. I just think with what San Antonio is trying to do, there is a good chance they'll cut ties with him.

If people we're interested in have just one more suitor we can forget it.

Pacers offered Monta $32 million/3 years or their whole cap space. Stuckey (unless he takes $5.7 million/2 years) and West are on the market.

P.S. Could Kings' rumoured interest in Monta have been a favour to Fegan to "create market", when there was none.

Why would be doing any favors for that guy? He and Woj are public enemy #1.

That deal is a absolute BARGAIN

We will see. We have a solid core. We have one of the best big man. We have a very good SF. We are a team on the rise.
I don't think it's set in stone, that we are unable to attract a FA.
And I think the media turmoil of the last weeks actually matters a lot more to fans, than to players, who know the business.

I like Danny Green but I really don't think he will be successful here. We are terrible at setting screens and getting guys open, and Green is one of those guys who can't put the ball on the floor much at all.

I agree. He works very well with the Spurs. But it's because he's a 4th or 5th option. Very defined role. No pressure on him at all. Doesn't mean he's a bad player. Just have to be careful to think that his efficiency will be the same outside of the Spurs when asked to do more.

It's never white&black and ok to do favours, when it doesn't cost you anything including credibility.

If it's a done deal within a day, it would look like Monta doesn't feel that way. Among rumoured teams Nuggets only have MLE, and for Hawks Monta is a clear Plan B. Mavs want all the cap space they can get and would only S&T Monta, if no money or a strong contributor is coming back, and that isn't gonna happen.

Not sure how we can get both Rondo and Green. On Rondo, a lot of people are judging him based on half a season in Dallas. The dude has not forgotten how to play basketball. He is still one of the most talented PGs in the league.

I would be looking at trying to do a sign and trade with Dallas for Rondo partly because I want to have his bird rights if things work out well.

We have been going on about needing to improve our bench but the best way to do that is improving the starting 5 by "demoting" a couple of those starters to the bench. If we can get Rondo and Green to add to WCS, all of a sudden you have Collison and McLemore coming off the bench along with one of JT or WCS. Re-sign Casspi and all of a sudden it's a play off type team in the west.

I like the players that we are getting linked to. They would improve us significantly.

Couldn't agree more with you.

Crazy how despite all the BS thats been going on, get two solid signings like Rondo and Green and we really would be a deep team.

Add another solid defensive Center and we would be looking real good.

Hopefully we can offload Landry when all this is said and done.

I'd love to get Wes Matthews but I don't see it happening with the available cap space.

What about signing Casspi, Stuckey, Dorrel Wright, a deep bench center and maybe Andre Miller? See if Landry and McCallum can be dealt for anything and call it a day.

I would hate to see us sign Stuckey. I've never thought of him as a good player and there is no error for mistakes this season. We have been rebuilding for so long we really need to nail FA signings.

I'm curious to see Moreland in Summer League...would love to see him take a leap and get into the rotation. We need impact, high energy guys off the bench.

I still have hope that Landry can revert to form now that we can play him next to an actual center with the bench. One of WCS, JT, or Cousins will be on the floor with him, meaning he doesn't have to worry about boxing out or being guarded by the opposing team's seven footer. Still, I wouldn't mind trading him for a cheap stretch four (maybe grab Frye from Orlando if they land Milsap.) That gives you one all-star with three complementary bigs around him to make his life easier depending on matchups.

We really are just that close. However, I think you underestimate our defensive front court as it is. Right now, with the addition of WCS, we probably have one of top 2-3 the best defensive frontcourts in the league (assuming WCS starts soon). Then, off the bench we have an excellent man post defender in JT, who we can bring in to spot defensive assignments as needed. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better defensive 3 man front court rotation in the entire league. It's crazy just how close we are.

The more I think about it, the more I think we try to sign and trade landry to create capspace for a shooter or defensive SF/perimeter defender. Our bench perimeter defense last year was absolutely atrocious and cost us many games alone.

No, please get rid of Landry.
If we can't get rid of Landry, it's not the end of the world. His Per 36 numbers last year were on par with what he gave us a few years back during his prime. Now he will be able to spend more time along side more capable defenders in WCS, JT and to a lesser extent Moreland. No more need for Landry at center or Landry/Evans PF/C combos.

We need some type of scoring punch off the bench and Landry at least gives you very efficient scoring at a 50%+ clip every year.

We don't have any big men that can score the rock outside of Cousins. If we can get rid of Landry and clear up space then we need to do that but it's not a huge deal if we can't. If we did, we would then need to find a big with some post up skills + what we already need in a couple of guards.

I just don't see anyone taking Landry outside of a Cousins or Gay trade, so we're most likely going to have to make due here.
