Typical bench, typical kings, typical Malone waiting until lead is almost all gone to take out the all bench lineup
He hasn't learned how to be flexible with his substitutions yet. As in go back to the starters a lot quicker than "normal", if the bench is giving it away. It's almost as if he has a set time that he always wants to stick with

Maybe he doesn't want to wear down the starters too quickly considering we're going to be playing 4 games in 5 nights.

He probably didn't help his chances of a gritty start to his career, with the Justin Bieber talk in the preseason. Now he's gotta work through it :D
I hated the pick when we took him, thought we reached for him at 7, I'm trying to be patient with him, I understand it can be tough on rookies, but his lack of athleticism or foot speed is a really big concern. He's not an athlete like
Ben. I've got some serious doubts that he's going to make it. I hope he proves me wrong. I want him to be good.

He's not a Ben type player. They knew that. They also realized that until he matured physically and put on some strength and weight, that he probably wouldn't make an impact. He was a long term project from the day he was drafted

That has been the pattern over the season and last season as well. He tends to stick with very routine sub patterns. I'd like to see him vary more, with the flow of the game

Must be tiring on the starters to have to get 10 pt leads every single quarter only to have the bench completely squander them in 3 minutes of play.

To be honest, he was projected to be one of the most NBA ready college players coming out. If they wanted a project, they would have picked Vonleh or Payton.

We'll just have to agree that we have a fundamental disagreement about Malone, then. I think the mere fact we're doing much better than pretty much anyone expected is due in great part to how Malone is coaching the team, managing the minutes, etc.

It's all cool, though. At least we've got a product on the court that's worth talking about. :)

We need a backup C and a backup PG. That backup PG is going to need to be able to create our offense completely stops with our bench. No one can create asides from Omri but he's not a PG.

Yes he was....Stauskas was a reach at 7. They drafted him to play and hedged against Ben not figuring it out.

I don't want to give up on the kid but he shouldn't be playing right now. I'd rather Ray play at the 2......that kid would be more steady than Nik right now and he deserves a shot.

And yet, I feel we have to do whatever it takes to get the win tonight. You just have to stop the skid.

No reason to give up on Stauskas. He's still a rook. I loved the pick, and I still do.
I agree, hes just needs to adjust to the speed and make a few plays/shots to get his confidence going. i assume next year he will come in bulked up and stronger which will help a ton.
