Not actually my creation, just another TDOS "game" that I am shamelessly lifting from another board. I put my name in the thread title to get around the board filter's annoying habit of not allowing posts/titles in all caps. Anyway, here's how this goes: you are granted three magically bottomless liquor bottles. What are they?

Ground rules:

  • It has to be liquor. 35% alcohol-by-volume, or greater. No beer, wine or champagne.
  • The bottles will look like actual bottles with labels, etc.
  • They magically never drop below half empty. Even if you upend it over a bucket.
  • If you try to profit from your endless supply, the magic stops. Try to trade so much as a drop for something as inconsequential as a single matchstick, the magic stops. You may give away as much as you like, as long as there is no quid pro quo arrangement.
  • Any or all the bottles may be a liquor no longer in production if you so choose.
  • And, to get keep smartasses from gaming the system, one additional rule of my own: it has to be fit for human consumption (no "Automobile-grade ethanol" answers).
So, there you have it. Which three liquors do you choose?

What am I missing? I'd probably take a tequila a bourbon and something else. but seems? I know lots of my mates drink those Fireball type of drinks. I think if I only had 3 no way would I go for such a distinct flavor, but I do love my cinnamon. I just can't imagine just drinking liquor though. Do we have a full bar of mixers and drink accoutrements?
I'm a much bigger beer drinker.

I would hope/assume mixers are still available in this fantasy scenario, especially since Kahlua doesn't meet the 35% rule and an endless supply of vodka with no White Russians sounds like something out of that twighlity show about that zone, but my answer would be the same even if they're not. I'd want:

Sazerac 18 Year Rye

Chopin Vodka

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum

The last one probably wouldn't get much use by me if we don't have full bar privileges, since whiskey (all but Scotch) and vodka are all I can drink straight, but I figure with those three and a full bar I can make pretty much any cocktail I'd ever want to make.

This isn't a "draft." You don't have to pull a Captain Jack Sparrow; you're not stuck on a Caribbean island with the booze. I'm basically asking you to name your three favorite liquors. Or, at the least, which three liquors would you choose to never run out of?

I know it's not a draft but you made lots of qualifiers. Main question is are we drinking them straight or mixed?

Well, every concept doesn't go over well... Should have known that this was more the beer-drinking crowd. Anyway, I might as well post mine:

Absolut Mandrin: because it's my favorite sippin' booze.
Bacardi 151: because it's my favorite mixin' booze.
Johnny Walker Blue: because, even though I prefer to drink my whiskey clear, like all Jolly Good Fellows, I'd drink toilet water if she were selling it to me. Plus, if I had a never-ending supply of Blue Label, maybe I could get Tony Kornheiser to come hang out.

Kinda forgot about this after seeing it at work.

I'm not gonna be real diverse in my selections. But I will pick only bottles (OK, let's be honest, "scotch") that I've actually owned, because it's kind of cheating to pick a $500 bottle I've never tasted.

I'm sipping a glass of this right now, thank you very much! Smoky but smooth.

This one's just so fantastic and complex.

This might not be the third-best bottle I've ever owned, but it's very nice and would be a good changeup for those times I don't want to be knocked over by the Islay peat.

100 year old Grand Marnier - I've had a shot of this, at $30 a shot it's overpriced, but once of the best sipping flavor drinks I've ever had.

Captain Morgan Private Stock - I prefer spiced rum and coke, I usually use regular captain or sailor, but if I don't have to pay for it I'll go with the private stock.

Legacy by Angostura - Seeing a theme yet? I have never had this, at $25,000 a bottle, it better be as advertised. Since it's bottomless, even if it's not all cracked up to be I'll just mix it with coke.

Well, I AM a homebrewer, but I have some particulars on this side as well:

Since I'm assuming moonshine doesn't count (uh, because it's illegal and I do not condone its creation. ;) ), I'll go with the following:

1. Tequila
On a regular basis, my go to is Cabo Wabo Añejo, followed closely by Cazadores Añejo.

2. Gin
Very easy. I'm a Hendricks guy. Love the way it tastes. When I lived back east, a great friend and I used to enjoy this with great frequency, and to this day, it reminds me of her.

3. Bourbon
Normally, Bourbon and I have a bad history, but this would be my third in a heartbeat. Pappy Van Winkle is my choice. In fact, if you find a bottle, let me know.

All of these were chosen because of their "sipability". No mixing required, as they stand on their own.

I was quite surprised to see the Capt. list, as it is very similar to the 3 bottles I had in mind.
So with very few amendments I would go with:

1.
Lagavulin-400x600.jpg

The Capt. took the 16 year old version. I can only recommend you try the distillers edition.

2. Bowmore 18 year old Single Malt.
I have nothing to add.

3.
southerncomfort.jpg

This is my favorite "light" drink. It goes well with anything. It's better than beer. :)

mmmm... can't believe i haven't participated in this yet...

1) Glenfiddich 15-Year-Old Solera Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky

2) Hendrick's Gin

3) Old Pogue Master's Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky

2. Gin

we're on the same page, friend.

There's something about gin I've always found off; it's like I'm drinking Pine-Sol... Or maybe I just don't like extra dry?
Not sure what it is. I don't enjoy Tanqueray, but maybe it's because the bouquet doesn't do it for me. Hendrick's seems more floral.

Bourbon. Gin. Metal. I'm not surprised.

OT: How do you like the Palms album?

I didn't choose it, because I strongly prefer vodka, but if a gin was going to be one of my three bottomless bottles it would have been Sapphire.

Pretty simple:

1. Dekuyper's Hot Damn! Cinnamon Schnapps

2. Jose Cuervo Gold

3. Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey

Well, I am not much of a drinker of spirits, but I will throw in my hat.

I would need a bottle of high quality Vodka
A bottle of the best Brandy
and a bottle of Absinthe for when things get boring.

Good god, this is the pick of a high school kid that has never drank anything good and just wants to get drunk. Hot Damn is a punishment, not a treat.

How about that, VF21? He thinks you're a high school kid! A high school kid with two grandchildren in elementary school; maybe you should have a show on MTV?

I know she is a grandma, which makes the pics even more shocking. HotDamn, really? The only time I ever drank that poison was fishing when it was raining, me and my buddy took a shot everytime we caught a fish. it was a punishment for how stupid we were to be sitting in a boat in freezing wet weather.

Hell, you might as well just go for the gold and make these your pics:

If you really want to get into it, all vodka is pretty much the same. Popov is no worse than Grey Goose. ;)

WTF? They're my choices. I'm not inviting you over to share them. And I'm not planning on tossing back shots just to prove how dumb I am.
