I was interested in bringing in Noelle Quinn...last year. Since then, she has shown herself unable to hold down a WNBA position. We all knew she was slow and out of shape when she first entered the league. Now, on top of that, she's unable to consistently knock down shots and turns the ball over way too much for a primary ballhandler. As a former lottery pick, she's had chances galore to lock up a WNBA role. It looked as though she might have done so after Harding went down in July 2007, but she returned to the team in 2008 with a lack of focus and even worse conditioning. With Harding injured again, Quinn was given every opportunity to solidify the point guard position...but didn't. By the time Harding worked her way back into the starting line-up (and doing a pretty horrible job at the point in the process), Quinn had fallen completely out of the rotation. How does a former lottery pick go from starting to not even being rotation worthy in less than three months time?
I wouldn't take her unless Minnesota waived her, and even then I wouldn't want her here. She's had plenty of chances to prove she belongs at this level, but the only thing keeping her here is her high draft status (that was not warranted based on her team's abysmal play her senior year). I'd rather bring in free agents who are ready to compete for a spot in this league.
