What is with all the downers as of lately?...
So SVG didn't choose our team, Big whoop!
Why is everyone so quick to give up?
Sure we are probably going to struggle next season, all the more reason to cheer our guys on and give them some confidence. I have been a Kings fan my entire life, and I can promise you one thing, this roster is not that bad. People are talking about how we're not going to be a contender and how we're not going to make the playoffs again, give me a break! All we could hope for during the 90's was if that Kings would score 110 points so that the fans could get a free western bacon cheeseburger from Carl's Jr. Yeah, all we had going for us was a free burger. lol

So everyone thats dogging the Kings this early on really need to take a step back and realize ITS NOT AS BAD AS YOU THINK.

i doubt that we're going to make the playoffs next year, but i would like to see progress as far as rebuilding goes. and an entertaining team wouldn't be unwelcomed, either.

seeing the title of this thread made me envision the kings' front office blaring 4 non blondes' "what's going on" in their offices all day.

I agree, however in order to "properly" rebuild, we would have to tank and get at least a top 5 pick (something we didn't do) in order to get a future cornerstone player. Unfortunately we are going to get stuck with another tweener bench player, hopefully someone that can at least become a good 6th man. Not good enough. We also have some overpaid players, and a head case for trade bait. The only decent trade we have is Kevin, and he's not going anywhere.

As that other post mentioned I think the frustration is not simply SVG not choosing us, but rather a compilation of all the bad luck we've been having. You have to admit that the Kings haven't gotten a lot of breaks lately. You just gotta figure that we're due and that good and bad tend to come in streaks so perhaps all we need is a good player dropping to us in the draft or getting the better of a single trade could begin pushing the luck in our favor...all it takes is one break sometimes.

I was so inspired by your reference to Carl's Jr. I decided to change my avatar from Doug Christie's upper cut to Rick Fox's jaw to a celebration of a $6,000 juicy burger. Hopefully, the Kings organization luck changes soon 'cuz these continuous distractions and run of bad luck are a bummer.

Yes, and the real trick was that any random Carls Junior employee didn't know what the score was for any given game so they would give you a free burger if you had any ticket.

Seriosuly though, if the fanbase has to go back to the days of looking forward to a free burger, they will only do so kicking and screaming. And that is what you are seeing.

I personally think it's an indication of how frantic and frenzied our lives have become. We need instant and continuing gratification. If that isn't forthcoming or if one little thing doesn't go "our" way, we panic.

I'm not worried. I was never convinced of SVG's immortality anyway. Yes, he could have been a good coach for us but I firmly believe there are others out there who might actually be better for us.

New blood into the head coaching ranks has to happen somehow. Every successful head coach had to start somewhere. I prefer to see the glass half full but maybe that's just me.

I'm looking forward to next season. We'll have a new coach; we'll have some new faces on the team. And we'll have people who still want to either grab the pitchforks and torches and march on the castle or throw themselves from the highest parapet in the land.

I'm just along for the ride. And I'm going to enjoy it.

These are all conditional things that NO ONE could have predicted we'd find ourselves in, so that's not fair. If Miller was injury prone when he came here, we'd have only ourselves to blame. And the arena thing was doomed from the get-go.
