My vote goes to any team that doesn't have Shaq on it! This is my theory why it may be okay for Dallas to win a championship... just a few years ago the Mavs and Kings were very similar (ie lots of offense and little defense, young owners mostly concerned with improving their teams no matter the cost). The Maloofs and Cuban since then have gone in opposite directions, the Mavs continued to sign players to compliment their core group. The Kings on the other hand, have became thrifty and relied more on their core players as we watched our depth get distributed throughout the league. Without a doubt there is a rivalry between these owners. I think if the Mavs win a championship, it may convince the Brothers Maloof to open their collective wallets this off-season and make some drastic improvements to this team and stop looking at the Kings as such a business and go after the rings the way they did in the past.

I'm basically an East coast fan also, except Kings so I have to go with Pistons. I would like the Heat a lot more if they were Shaqless.

I just want to see the Mavs and the Pistons in the finals. I think that would be a great series. After I can't watch the Kings anymore I just want to see good basketball.

And there's another difference between Kings Fans and Laker fans... it occurs to me that the only reason you don't have anything against the Mavericks is because they're the only one of the four teams that hasn't beaten the Lakers in the playoffs... well, aside from the Heat, which has Shaquille O'Neal. At least you see *some* Kings Fans rooting for Dallas around here (even though I personally have no idea why).

And, unlike Warhawk, being on the east coast, I *NEVER* root for the west to win, unless it's the Kings.

I don't see what difference you see from my statement between Kings and Laker fans. I have other reasons for choosing what team I root for than what you believe, so please don't assume what or how I'm thinking.
