If you think you'll gain "insider" knowledge about the Kings in this article, guess again. Just another blatherfest by Ham, what this does is review the blockbuster trade that took place and little else.

The Kings have a flawed roster, but a base to work with. They have plenty of attractive expiring contracts, all of their first-round selections and seven second-round picks over the next two drafts. That may not land the perfect player, but it's certainly enough to improve the overall talent of the club like the Barnes deal did last season.

Maybe they can't find a dance partner to work with, but there is no reason for the Kings not to at least attempt something substantial.

I have one question, clearly hypothetical:

How does Ham know what the Kings are or aren't attempting?

There's doing nothing and there's doing something just to do something. I have repeated this often, but I really fear the team will do something just to say they did and cause more harm long term. It's frustrating doing nothing, but this season was lost largely due to bad luck and injury not incompetence.
