Why did they pick April 19th?

It's pretty obvious and here's why.
April 18th is the last home game and it's against the lakers.
If you really think there staying please Lightin up.
Why April 19th? Did they just want to get more money from the fans??
Pretty strange date if you ask me

The Lakers game is April 13th, which is also the last day of the entire NBA regular season.

Obviously they just wanted to wait until the season ended. Yes, all signs point to leaving, there's no doubt about that and that's not news. BUT there is still hope, which is why we should all be going to games and the city hall rally to put pressure on both the city to get something moving and the Kings to at least wait another year before a final decision is made.

What really makes me scratch my head is why the NBA relocation deadline is in the middle of the season in the first place. I suppose it makes sense to give teams more time to plan a move, but they can do that behind the scenes without filing. On the other hand, it gives fans a chance to rally support to try to save their team. So who knows.

Sigh. With all due respect, can you please stop making new threads for stuff that could be put in one of the other 100 "we hate the maloofs," "screw the kings" threads....:-/.

The owners have a regular meeting already scheduled for the 14-15 of April, I believe. The Maloofs requested an extension of the filing period so that they could discuss relocation with the other owners at that meeting. The league consented and extended the deadline to a few days after the meeting, meaning that once they talk it out, the Maloofs will have a few additional days to file if they so choose.

The particular timing is nothing to be suspicious about.

Weren't you just saying that you're done with this forum, only two day ago? If you're going to broadcast the fact you hate this forum, and want to be banned, why are you back two days later, and with another thread?

C'mon, we all know why they picked the date they did and for anyone hoping they do stay, it doesn't make things look any better, only worse.

Notice the silence from the Maloofs and Anaheim? Silence is NOT good. If I had to venture a guess the deal is indeed done and the Maloofs are ready to make a quick and painless exit after the season ends.

Also like to add, a lockout would only help them in their transition. Would allow them time to start the process of re-branding the product so should they choose.

I'm finally at peace with all this. Season tickets aren't on sale yet; the Maloofs haven't given their info to Taylor-ICON yet; the meeting is for the day after the season ends, but before the original 90 day deadline; the Maloofs won't say a word when asked about this; too many rumors/facts about bad Maloof family finances.

Sorry. I've moved on. I expect we'll all check out, one by one, but she's gone. The car she drove away in is no longer in sight. And she's not coming back.

My beer tonight will be a little salty, but I'll survive. I'll even find another now. But there will be another; the last one is gone.

There is no point in pleading; looking desperate is not a good thing.

Bye. I'll miss you, but I know now you're happy. At least I have that.

Peace, out.
