ODU @ Delaware Team Manager Sighting PBP

I'm going to steal a page from the forum down the hall and see if I can give folks, who don't have access to one of the eastern seaboard CSN regional channels a PBP account of all sightings of the red clad twin ODU team managers....VF21, I will try to do your commentary proud

We are just a few minutes away from tip and one of the two of them (I will try to see if they have disclosed enough to tell them apart from crazy camera angles and very random passings in front of said cameras) has managed to make a random appearance in front of the camera as the obligatory shot of head coach Wendy Larry doing something head coachy as they put the graphic up and talk about her 21 year record at ODU. Our intrepid manager moves a stool from one side of the bench to the other and manages to get good face time. No cheek tug I guess because her hands were full and she really was trying to be non chalant about this. Makes me wonder if that stool reaaaaaaaaally needed to be moved RIGHT as that camera panned coach Larry. Camera pans away as she is standing in the vicinity, if we were about to get our silent shout out there and the producer cut away, I'm writing a letter to CSN!

19:51...we have the first obligatory shot of coach Larry as her post player Megan Pym is called for an early loose ball foul on their first possession. One of our posting managers is sitting behind her over her left shoulder, and consequently, we are only seeing the manager's right shoulder. I am certain I'm going to be able to tell them apart as soon as I check the pictures in the Ticha! thread because they can't be dressed EXACTLY the same.

19:43...as if on cue, we get a wide pan as Delaware begins its first offensive possession in front of the ODU bench, and I'll be dadgummed if they aren't both dressed exactly the same. (Well, not EXACTLY exactly but exactly enough that if you ask me, if you're twins and wearing the same color scheme it may as well be the same exact style of clothing because I've already lost track of who I thought was who LOL). They both are visible now and twin #2 who has not as of yet made an appearance on camera is visible chatting over the shoulder of an assistant coach.

19:39...another cheap foul call against ODU has coach Larry up off the bench AND now with her signature towel over the shoulder. Of course that means more face time for the twin sitting behind coach Larry's chair and something apparently funny is going on because she's giggling instead of managing stuff right now. :wink:

15:53...our first media time out of the day. T.J. Jordan has brought the rain down on Delaware to finally put ODU on the board, then for good measure on their next possession drops a NBA three pointer on them. She's set some sort of school record with this last three. Anywho, talk about lost amongst the trees, ODU's 5'2" pg Jazzmin Walters takes an outlet pass end to end to finish with a layup through the Delaware defense as if she was skiing on a slalom course, untouched. 8-4 ODU. Coming out of the time out, nice face time for manager behind coach Larry.

12:12...we've just had a time out, I missed why, might be media related or the fact that Delaware needed to stop the bleeding because ODU is continuing to JUMP them. 18-6 after Walters comes FLYING in for a fastbreak layup only to get CLOCKED in the head on the way up. She hit the shot and made the FT coming out of the time out 19-6 is the score now and we're now headed into a media timeout. Coming out of THIS timeout @ 11:12 mark, the twins were chatting amongst each other. Nobody needed anything I guess.

7:34...it's another time out time, I think Delaware called it, if they didn't they needed to, they're STILL getting JUMPED, the score is 27-11. This time out was spent in Delaware huddle, I was going to say who cares. But somewhere, I'm sure their team managers have been posting and they may need face time to give silent shoutouts to someone too. It's only fair :wink:

3:49...another time out...Delaware STILL getting jumped, score is now 34-13 ODU. Scoring 2-5 points for every 7-8 you give up is gonna make it hard to get back into this game. I dunno, I could be wrong on that. We come out of the timeout to a feature with the coach from Delaware talking about I guess why ODU is such a machine as a women's basketball program and their postseason appareance string. She thinks its about rebounding and defense being a hallmark of coach Larry's system...given the ODU alumnae we've seen here, I think we might agree with that assessment Another observation, getting the seat behind coach Larry is the one to have if you want your face on TV...A LOT. Our intrepid behindcoachLarry twin is back carrying the stool AND now a cup for good measure, again hands too full to give the silent shout out. At half time, I will investigate further, for all I know this isn't even the twin who was going to give us the cheek tug LOL.

We're at the half 34-14. Delaware closed the half on a 1-0 run, I suppose if you want to look at it from the glass half full perspective.

20:00...the second half is about to start and wouldn't you know it, coach Larry stands in the PERFECT spot to get both twins in the same shot? After a quick pause of the TiVo and a review of the Ticha! thread from a lil bit ago, I think I have figured out which is which, or who is who to be more exact. The twin behind coach Larry is bballagrl24 and the twin behind the assistant coach is kingsgurl87. And it is indeed bballagrl24 who had given us the heads up on a possible something or nother...Let's see what happens in the 2nd half...Announcers had given a rundown of the first half stats, Delaware is shooting 15% from the floor...bleech. That's some tough shooting mixed with tough defense.

15:52...another break in the action, 40-16 ODU right now, so they have reversed the um, run that Delaware ended the first half with. We come back from the timeout and our twins are working HARD, apparently that must have been a rowdy break because they are having to put a lotta stuff back. The announcers are highlighting a play that happened as they went to break. Three things stand out from this to me, (1) pg court vision and decision making (2) bad things happen when the defense loses somebody in transition and (3) good things happen when you stay in your lane offensively on transition breaks. 4 on 3 transition and ODU's point guard recognizes that all four Delaware defenders are collapsing on ball side so she threads the needle and hits her trailer for a layup and an and1. Nice.

11:21...yet another break. ODU is up 49-23. We come back from commercial to a montage of shots of coach Larry and Delaware's coach Martin..well, coaching today. When live action resumes, bballagurl24 is rubbing the side of her face. Sure, it could have been nothing, but it also could be her shoutout. I'm leaning more towards the nothing. :wink:

10.9 seconds to go...obviously bypassed some timeouts, but this one is for all intents and purpose all over but shouting. 76-37 ODU in your final and our intrepid managers are busy getting ready to do what all they need to do once the game is over because they're up out of their seats already. This apparently was all I was meant to see since the channel feed died. Ladies, if y'all unfurled a big ol' banner from behind the bench saying "WE HEART KINGSFANS.COM" on your way out? Comcast didn't let us see it, you'll have to bring it to the Ted and try again next TV game...
