Busy busy busy day on the schedule on Sunday December 3rd.

Kentucky @ Louisville starts the day off @ 10am on ESPNU (in a battle for bragging rights in Kentucky). A chance for arm chair scouts to get a look at Jazz Covington, a senior undersized post player (C) for Louisville and someone who is on the Wade Trophy Watch List.

Squeezing in the middle of the afternoon are a couple of games (2pm tip for both):

if you aren't in Palo Alto for this game, check it out on Fox SportsNet Texas Tech @ Stanford @ 2pm (Senior post player for Stanford Kristen Newlin and junior all world Wade Watch List guard Candice Wiggins or senior wing Ashley Robertson (Texas Tech)) or flip over to ESPN2 for Clemson @ Vanderbilt (senior guard and another Wade Watch List player Dee Davis for Vandy)

The finale of the day is a primo matchup 5pm on ESPN
Tennessee @ North Carolina. Two powerhouse programs, with several fantastic players to see. Wade Watch List players galore...The Chosen One...duh, nuff said. Ivory Latta (senior), Erlana Larkins (Junior) from UNC.

NO Fox SportsNet coverage for Stanford today

I just checked the Stanford website again once I discovered when setting my TiVo this morning that the Stanford Texas Tech game is not going to be picked up by a Fox regional. For some reason I could have sworn I saw this on their schedule as a televised game.

It will be available on the Internet however if you aren't either meeting @ Center Court or heading to Palo Alto. CSTV is handling the webcast for many of the Stanford games (as they are also many other WCBB games).

Visit gostanford.cstv.com for more information and to access today's webcast.

Not that I was going to watch the game, but that got me wondering: why is Stanford not on very many TV games? To my knowledge, none of their regular-season games will be on any of the ESPN network channels (though that might change during March Madness).

The Lady Cardinal is one of the country's better NCAA programs. I would think they would be on more TV games than they are. Even Fox Sports West seems to snub them!

I don't think the Cardinal got snubbed any more than the entirety of their conference and the coast they play on tends to not get much national coverage. The Pac-10 TV seemingly is split amongst the two local sports regionals CSN and FSN for their conference games, and I seem to recall a decent sprinkling of those games on Comcast and Fox Sports in January and February. Although, Stanford was just on national TV for their game against Georgia. Their matchup with Tenn should have been televised, and I heard a quasi explanation re: why that game didn't get on TV...had something to do with a difference of opinion re: the date that game would be scheduled.

Wooo...that North Carolina Tennessee matchup was sloppy. I wasn't liking Latta's performance in the first half, she certainly played much better in the 2nd half of that game. Glad they clued me in that she had had knee surgery this offseason and still is trying to get her legs under her, because I kept muttering to myself as I watched the first half "MAN she is getting ripped off the dribble.....A LOT!!) Tennessee's point guard...Shannon Bobbitt...fan of her.
