TIBCO and Basketball, what Vivek did for the Warriors

Wow. If the Warriors utilizes this type of advanced technology from TIBCO, that other teams don't yet, I really think that Vivek would want someone in the GM and coaching position to be familiar with how to best use the technology to it's advantage. Otherwise, he would have to train all the coaches and front office people again.

To give the Kings the best and most immediate advantage from his own technology, I am pretty sure he will want people who have worked with the technology in Golden State.

The next coach and GM will probably be Mike Malone and the assistant GM at Golden State.

I believe I have written notes about similar ideas several times. Not that I am bragging. Oh, hell yes, I am. Computers and smartphones can change much of how we experience the game in person and in homes. It is not as difficult as you'd think. I am a nerd. I think there is far more that can be achieved with electronics. I cannot for the life of me know how TIBCO can expand what they do beyond the arena but I am sure what they will do will include the city.

One of the silliest things that has struck me is the lack of city wide WiFi. Heck, little old Madison, WI has WiFi. Pay a monthly fee and you can take your laptop everywhere. Think Qualcomm and this will be solved. That's what they do. Phone companies may be ticked off because they no longer can charge data fees but so be it. The rest of what can be done in the entire area is limited only by the imagination of the nerds. :) The nerds and jock nexus will make for fun for all. It already is getting so that this data charge on cell phones is getting to be a rip off as people can drink their coffee and do their shopping and places that have WiFi. Why not the entire city?

There is a huge advantage to prewiring a new arena from day one (redundant?) for whatever idea might pop up in the future or at least to try to anticipate the future. Perhaps in 10 years the smartphone, or at least the capabilities that mesh with a game, will be so inespensive that each seat can have its own "phone" pad. So, run wires, and it better be coaxial cables, to each seat. The city has made a jump into the 21st Century finally and perhaps with all the techie owners, it will lead cities as the slow chug to the 22nd Century occurs. No one knows what is in the future except that it is going to be cool. All this coolness will be done by what the FBI on "Bones" calls "squints." The thing is, that in many areas of the country "squints" are seen as something odd, something outlandish. Fortunately, we live in California where the squints live in our own homes.

I could go on and on but we could be on the cusp of not only cool gadgets but USEFUL and cool gadgets.
