Interesting that the Kings apparently track verticalities on defense as a metric. It's really starting to pay off. It's also going to suck when some team poaches Jordi to be their head coach this summer. This team genuinely seems to love playing together.

Is it possible that a team building strategy that doesn’t involve tanking, accumulating hundreds of draft assets and then pulling together a mishmash of high upside 20 year olds on rookie contracts, might actually have some merit and historical precedent.
My only nitpick on this is we don't have the Bibby yet. We have two high level "stars" - which is where we were in 99. There's even some similarities even though Fox is just slept on because he's a King and not a behavioral concern:
Fox is the (unfairly) maligned mega-star in wait.
Sabonis is the super skilled center that is under-rated around the league and makes things you didn't think possible so.
I think you can slot Keegan in as a Peja level piece. And even go into the future and say our remaining guard core is equal with potential to be better than BJ/DC. Is one of them the surplus that facilitated the Bibby trade? What would DM/Holmes/Future FRP bring?
I hope we can get this third piece without waiting two years. But no doubt we need a third star to go from really nice surprise story to legit heavyweight contender. That's what Bibby provided.
