The Fantastic Mr. Fox

Damian Lillard has always been pretty damn good at getting teammates involved and then taking over in the 4th. It's crazy to think how far Fox has come in the past few seasons in that regard to be on or even past that level.

Fox just looks so confident out there, like he belongs going toe-to-toe with Kyrie.

Not only belongs, but showed he could go toe to toe with a top 5 player and top 15 player and get the W. Something has just clicked this season for him with regards on how to get to his spots whenever he wants at anytime.

His talent is #1, as he always had the ability. Also, he’s a super smart high IQ player.

But I believe Mike Brown also has a lot to do with it. His system and his coaching style.

With all due respect to Michael Malone and Dave Joerger, IMO Brown has already shown to be the KINGS best HC since Adelman. I’m thoroughly impressed.

Let’s just hope he can help them take the next step.

Now it's going to be time for mean Fox, the one that takes the offense by the you know what's to be a consistent thing. Home stretch, super teams forming because they think the Kings are a pretender, and expectations make it necessary. Early on the year Fox was somewhat deferring to his teammates and the system but as time has gone on he's been slowly ticking up his own game. He's been around 19-20 shots per game since the start of the new year. Now it's time for that usage to climb a bit. He shouldn't be sitting at 26th in the league or wherever they said he was last night. This team isn't talented 10 deep enough or good enough defensively for that to be OK once the real games start. It's stars will take any team where it goes.

I think where Fox has been very smart for most of the year is letting the offense/system cook when it's rolling. That's a huge reason we're a top ranked offense in basketball. And then when it was crunch time, he took the game over.

But with our shooting struggles the last few weeks, I think he's picked up on that he just can't wait for the 4th quarter right now until the shooting regresses to the mean. I'm not sure if just a dedicated uptick in USG is needed, but him just being mindful of how things are rolling within the game flow and if he needs to get it started early or not. Because a big reason I think the offense has clicked so well is it CAN be anyone on any given night. Team has had 7 different 30 pt scorers this season. That's so good for keeping guys engaged and locked in.

He's 15th in USG rate on the year. I don't think that's low at all, especially when paired with another offensive engine in Sabonis

Ah...Well, I only joined in late February, so I have only been around less than a year.
I still remember all the butting heads we had throughout the glory days when I was just a hot-blooded punk kid on the forum. (Under a different account, I think I achieved the universal hatred status with my other account, but I digress... lol) She was stiff in her modding but she was always fair. Then we hung around throughout most of the last 2 decades with our mediocre Kings and she remained to be the most positive, the brightest beacon on the forum combatting all the negativity.

I'm sure she has something to do with our success from up there blessing our luck.

There's like two people I think you could be based off this...

Christine was wonderful, she had to mod me 3-4 times, usually when my snarky/sarcasm crossed a line that those who wouldn't recognize may have taken for something more sinister. I was really glad to meet her at the two forum sponsored games I attended.

Who exactly is Christine?
The late great VF21. You may not have been a member here yet.

There’s a pinned thread in this forum if you want to learn a bit more about her impact here. Also, no matter how the KINGS played and regardless whether they won or lost — she was about as positive a fan as there was. Maybe only behind the late, great Positive Dave from the KHTK days.
Check the tribute thread stickied at the top of the Kings Rap forum.

I guess I have some "reading" homework to do at some point this week. Thanks, @KingsFanSince85, @Geoff, and @Warhawk for your recommendation to check out the pinned thread to learn more about Christine/VF21. I will have to read up on her, as it seems like she had a very positive and monumental impact on this forum, and on many of you on an individual, and personal, level.

May the Kings win one for Christine :):):)

Yeah, but as seen the other night, that window might be a little slimmer. What was good enough for dinner yesterday might not be today. Partly some of those shooting struggles are because teams are reading the DHO a little better as well as riding the passing lanes. If Fox does get more aggressive early like you say I think things will open up for those shooters a little more. Fox has been climbing the shot charts as the team has depended on him more at teams can now scout the Kings. And again, I think history is your best bet when comparing, almost no team has won in the playoffs with a top slot 17 and then 11 shot per game chart.

The problem with trying to trade for ben simmons is outgoing contracts. We just don't have them.

Also, at this point, I don't want whatever that guy is going through to disrupt this:

We have a better version of Ben. His name's Domas. Better across the board, points, rebounds, passing, toughness, leadership, attitude, etc., etc.

I hope that comment was a joke, becuase it is.

I don't really get the hype surrounding Ben Simmons even before he was traded to the Nets. Was it because his defense was elite? His numbers never really popped out or anything.

Elite defender, great playmaker and great finisher. Close to a triple double guy with agreat defense. Even though his scoring was crazy, he still gave you like 16-18 ppg. His size as a PG game you great flexibility for lineups. Also really good in the fastbreak.

Now he plays like he’s afraid to get fouled so he doesn’t drive, making him a complete zero scoring wise.
