The Bachelor....

Gary

All-Star
Is a jerk.. End of story...

I knew I didn't like that guy from the start but to pull the crap he did was just idiotic.

I find it amazing that anyone watches the show (among others) to begin with......

This is one show I never understood, the premise is so incredibly flawed and lends itself to only cast the most shallow gold-digging females and jerk men who don't mind going through a dozen girls hearts to pick one. And from what I can tell none of the couples on this show (not counting its sister show The Bachelorette) have actually gone through with it!

So he dumped her for the other girl, supposedly the reveal of this on the show was not a surprise, just filmed like it was. Big deal. They'll never last.

My daughter really wanted to watch it last night.

No way I was going to miss Heroes and Chuck, so I watch my shows in another room.

After a couple of "entertaining" hours, she dragged me back to the living from for the Post-finale, part 1 (part 2's tonight). Just about made me want to toss something at the screen.

Geeeeeeez, I should have stayed in the other room and watched QVC instead.

If you want to be truly amazed and entertained (the way a trainwreck amazes and entertains), try watching Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels on VH-1. It will truly boggle your mind. One word of warning: don't eat first, and if you do, have a proper receptacle close at hand just in case...

VF, I woke up one morning and watched a whole day of VH-1 Celebreality and was amazed. I knew about Rock of Love, but who are these other people? Ray-J? For the Love of Money featuring d-list reality show "all stars"??? You mean to tell me the guy who sang "Butterfly"'s career went belly up and he's in a rehab house? Never could have seen that coming!

Rock of Love is amusing for one thing though - the dichotomy between the pure fame whore and the gal that actually thinks Brett Michael's post-80s Poison/solo career is relevant enough to whore it up for the chance to win his affection.

And to think that VH-1 is the mature channel in the MTV brand.

I was a big fan of Poison back in the day, and I liked Bret when he was the judge on Nashville Star. He's actually fairly intelligent - and still appears to have more than two brain cells capable of working together at the same time. I've seen him on a couple of talk shows recently and he seems as amused and baffled at the popularity of the show as we are... He's living the life I suspect a lot of over-the-hill former hair band rock stars would love to be living.

:p

I wouldn't classify myself as a fan, but the early Poison stuff is irresistably catchy pop-rock that I can dig. He was light years better on Nashville Star than the judges they had the last season or two, but sadly so was the talent.
