COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The United States has added a pair of games in Guangzhou, China, as part of its training for the world championships later this summer.

The Americans will play the Chinese on Aug. 7. The game, announced Friday by USA Basketball, will mark the first time a U.S. team with NBA players will compete against the Chinese in China.
The Chinese still hope to have star center Yao Ming, who is recovering from surgery for a broken foot.
The Americans will play Brazil the following day. The Brazilian team could include NBA players Leandro Barbosa of Phoenix and Denver forward Nene.
USA Basketball previously announced games in South Korea against Lithuania and Korea from Aug. 13-15.
"I think it is incumbent on us when we go and play in China, Korea and Japan that we get acclimated to those countries," coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement. "So to play a couple of games in China and spend a few days there will not only help us for Japan but it will help us for 2008 and Beijing."
The Americans will open exhibition play against Puerto Rico on Aug. 3 following a pair of training sessions in Las Vegas. They also face Puerto Rico on Aug. 19 in Sapporo, Japan, in their first game at the world championships.
