Storm Clinch Second Seed in Western Conference

The defending WNBA champions will open their title defense with home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Seattle Storm defeated the Sacramento Monarchs 76-63 before 9,686 fans at KeyArena on Thursday night. The victory locked up the second seed for Seattle in the Western Conference playoffs.

I rather like the smugness. It means that they think it will be easy to do that again if we meet in the WCF. Not once was the absence of DeMya or Kara mentioned.

They also made an issue of the great job they did defending Yo (only 7 pts). I think the refs helped in that regard too. Did anyone count how many times they knocked her to the floor? Yo only got a couple of calls while they beat on her all night. Between the hooking and holding her......well let's just say, "yeah, it was effective."

I mentioned it last night to my fellow fans that both games at The Key, Kara wasn't in the lineup (let alone DeMya this time around) and how fortunate that was for us (Storm). Add in our horrible road record, and the passion of the Sac fans at Arco, and the conference finals are not going to look like last year's IMO.

Why is this posted here. WtnTrans, are you a Storm fan. If not, we already know this and we do not care about Seattle clinching the SECOND SEED. That means they will have to beat Sacramento in "that old barn" to win the series, and that ain't going to happen!!! :mad:
