Stop the Flop!

I haven't seen this mentioned here, but after Reggie Evans' epic flop:

and all the flopping going around, there's a lot of people begging the NBA to do something about this.

Personally, I'd like to see this get to the point where, if a player hits the floor because of contact (real or imaginary), a call HAS to be made. Ref can call charge / block / flop. Flop = Technical Foul. Coaches can challenge at the cost of a timeout if they lose the challenge (like in Football).

Soccer is, far and away, my favorite sport, but flopping is and has been out of control in games for a quite a while. It's embarrassing sometimes.

MLS is issuing suspensions for dives that lead to PK goals or red cards. Would be interesting to see NBA do something like assess post-game technicals that are fined and count towards a later suspension.

Of course they never would or it would bite their stars the hardest.

I agree, its crap. Its turning into soccer... unfortunately I think its going to be part of the game "strategy".
