You have to give the other team credit. The Rockets are arguably playing the best ball in the Western Conference right now. They hit open shots, defended reasonably well, spaced the floor, and did the little things you need to do to win.

No shame in losing to the Rockets. If Houston plays anyone other than San Antonio in the first round my money is on the Rockets.

That's if Houstons plays like how they're playing RIGHT NOW. Then I see them beating a lot of teams in the WC...including Spurs. They could even take it to 7 games.

Today's game, Houston did a lot of stuff to make them win. Like what was mentioned, making their shots...even very tough shots that they normally will miss. Not a lot of stupid TOs, etc. So to see the Kings still hung around with them, especially our guard having a bad game and doing some silly TOs (you can include no Brad and Bobby too if you want), I like our Kings chances of doing a few damages too.

Defeated 4 of the top 5 teams in the Western Conference in straight games and they're 2-1 against the Spurs. This team is just plain better than us.

i disagree. They mightve been better today, but we didnt have Brad Miller, who wouldve helped us alot. And havent we beaten them this year?

Look at their roster now compared to when we last saw them and tell me it's the same team.

*Edit: actually I meant our roster... but they went through changes as well*

They have a lot of good role players (JB, James, Wesley, Sura) that's really help them. Plus Yao and TMac...2 all stars right there. Overall, they're more of a talented team than Kings.

This hot streak they're having now is making them look like a Champ though.. :D Here's hoping they cool off.

i give all the credit in the world to the Houston Rockets...they played as well as they possibly could...and i even told Rockets fan this...

yes it may have had a different outcome had Brad been back but...we'll never know

as for the Rockets in the POs they could possibly make it to the WCF...id put money on it

and as for the PO in general...expect for whoever plays SA in the first round in all the other matchups the lower rank teams have a chance to steal it...and if the POs started today and the Grizz had to match up with the Suns...the Grizz would give them a run for their money...and id even put my money on the Grizz..they've managed to beat the Suns like twice this season home and away

If Houston plays the Spurs it could still get interesting. Very interesting.

^OH YES

So far this year the match ups against those two teams have been great basketball to watch (though on that one match up where it appeared that the Spurs were gonna win by at least 13 pts when all of a sudden out of nowhere TMAC spewed out 13pts in 30 secs...as a fan of the game of basketball that was so exciting to see)

Ricke adleman was out coached this game he had no adjustments and no answers to what jeff van gundy put out on the floor.Rick tried to out score jeff's strategy with too many quick shots and not enough execution and patience on offense. Then defensively he went to the zone too late,He should of alternated with the zone if he was going to go small and should have gave yao and mcgrady different looks defensively. The guards for the rockets are not good passers and they make alot of Turn overs when pressured, the zone back to man back to the zone defense would of defintely distrupted the game plan from the back court stand point.

Jeff wore out the defense by making the kings work and they moved the ball well into the clock until taking the field goal attempts. If there ball movement didn't work they tossed it into yao and with Brian skinner undersized playing yao it was no match someone had to double yao which left open shots to everyone. Then mcgrady would go pick n roll with howard and we would get caught up in dumb switches and not rotating back to the ball fast enough. They wore us out pick n roll and they were to patient and super relaxed on offense which says alot about the defensive pressure applied.

you mix up the defense by playing a little trick suprise Zone and then back to man, maybe apply some full court pressure and most of all put Greg O in the game. When Greg plays you don't need to double yao because Greg is big enough to defend yao with single coverage ONE ON ONE,you do this you don't have to double Two people and if they watch the tape tomorrow they will see the defense being wore out destroyed by going super small and having to double team two people every time down sometimes to posessions with one trip.

Rick should have went BIG play Brain skinner at the 4 and Greg at the 5.You do this you have a balance. You don't get killed on the glass, you have two shot blockers protecting the drives to the basket by only one driver in Mcgrady,You also have two big people who can play Yao and show him BIG double TEAMS.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO BIG FOREVER EITHER DO IT IN SPURTS AND THEN YOU CAN GO BACK TO YOUR ALL OFFENSE TEAMS.BALANCE IS THE KEY AND DEFENSIVE STRATEGY WAS NOT UTILIZED AT ALL.THE ROCKETS HAD A PERFECT ATTACK PLAN OF INSIDE OUT PLAY MIXED WITH A LITTLE SPICE OF PICK N ROLL AND A LITTLE WITH SUPREME PATIENCE.

i ALSO NOTICE THEY DIDN'T FRONT YAO AND WHEN YAO HAS TO WORK TO GET THE BALL HE GET'S FRUSTRATED AND HUBIE ELUDED TO HOW THE KINGS WERE PLAYING YAO FROM BEHIND.I HAVE NOTICE WHEN TEAMS FRONT YAO HE GET'S REAL MAD AND FRUSTRATED MYSELF.

Sometimes I love you
Sometimes you make me blue
Sometimes I feel good
At times I feel used
Lovin you darlin’
Makes me so confused

:D

Sorry, could not resist (I love her music), but it is pretty indicative of how a Kings fan might feel with this team ;)

Her who?

 Alicia Keys. I thought she was pretty mainstream.

Mainstream for whom?

My music tastes run to country, 60s, 70s and 80s rock, and classical.

Houston had a great game, no doubt. But their offensive sets looked one-dimensional. I don't see how running pick n rolls to death and relying on your perimeter shooters is going to get you through the playoffs.

I like a little bit of everything...

Edit: I guess I should have said "mainstream ...in pop culture" :)

When you live in the middle of the forest it's tough to get radio. So, over the past several years I've simply quit listening to any new stuff and have, instead, contented myself by listening to the music I already have...

I know, I really should get out more but "those oldies but goodies" always bring back good memories.

:D

Oldies but goodies, there's nothing wrong with that.

Getting more off topic but, I don't think I am old. Yet I check into the "what are you listening to" thread and find myself scratching my head at some of the posts of our resident young folk. That makes me feel old or at the very least out of touch with mainstream America. I'll take the later than the former. ;)

i don't think the rockets would be the spurs in the playoffs. come on. you think howard is going to stop tim duncan??? experience is in the spurs favor. plus they'd have home court.

as for today, the rockets brought it. if brad had played, who knows what would have happened, but today we stunk it up, they kicked our butts
