MONARCHS FANS WELCOME TEAM HOME FROM HOUSTON AND GAME ONE OF THE WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS

Monarchs Fans Gather at ARCO Arena to Welcome Home the Sacramento Monarchs Team

WHO: Monarchs Fans - lots of them!

WHAT: Monarchs Fans will congregate at ARCO Arena Friday morning to welcome their team home from Game 1 of the WNBA Western Conference Finals. Fans will be decked out in Monarchs Rally Wigs, pom poms, signs and other fun Monarchs rally items.

Fans will help celebrate the Monarchs return to Sacramento and pump them up for Game II of the Western Conference Finals vs. Houston on Saturday, September 10, at 2:30 p.m. at ARCO Arena.

WHEN: FRIDAY, SEPT. 9, 2005 - 11:45 a.m.

WHERE: ARCO Arena, Parking Lot behind the Monarchs Practice Facility, One Sports Parkway, Sacramento

I SO could have made that! I took my lunch at 11:30 cause I feel like crap today. Took a loooooong lunch too. I wish I would have seen this earlier!

Oh well. Such is the life. Anyone make it?

I went. There were about 50 fans and most of the MS&E staff out there, plus cameras from channels 10 and 13. They handed out wigs, thunderstix and pompoms, and we just cheered when they got off the bus. Not much of a big thing, really.

What I enjoyed seeing was how quickly Chelsea and Kristin hopped off the bus to get everyone's luggage out of the storage bins. I guess the rookies have to do this for the full season. If it were up to me, after the way they played last night, I'd give them a promotion to sophomores right now and let everyone get their own damn bags.

I managed to make it out there, and luckily make it before the bus got there. I was starting to get worried that I wouldn't finally get out of the office. Thanks Hoopmatron, I did notice that Kristin and Chelsea were off the bus first but didn't notice what they were doing....

It was fun, a lotta energy in the group of folks who were there. Since I wasn't here for the first round it was nice to get a set of the wigs, so I can now get wiggy with it.

Much more important that everybody is out at ARCO tomorrow to show some support and help them try to close this series out and finally see what life is like on the other side.

GET OUT TO ARCO TOMORROW TO SUPPORT THIS TEAM!!!! AND BRING A COUPLE OF FRIENDS WITH YOU!!!
