Shot Distribution

I'm just wondering how many shots everyone would like to see each player make in a game. The Kings average about 80 shots a game. Here is how I would distribute them if I were calling the plays:

Mike- 15
Bonzi- 10
Peja- 10 (until he is fully healed, then 16)
SAR- 15
Brad- 10

Starters total = 60 (66)

Kenny- 10 (6)
Garcia- 5 (4)
Hart- 5 (4)

Bench total = 20 (14)

I would like to see ball movement, I would like to see well-executed plays with pick and rolls, good screens, and isos. I would like to see the TEAM looking for the open man, drawing the double team away and getting the ball into the one guy left unguarded.

Sorry, but this whole idea of cast-in-stone shot distribution just doesn't make any sense without good basketball fundamantals.

yah i pretty much agree with this statement hands down!

The team is doing those things. 28 assists says at the very least that they are moving the ball around.

Looking at the shot distribution tells if the right plays are being called to get players enough shots. Looking at it after watching a game tells if a player is passing up too many shots or if they are taking too many shots. Brad Miller often passes up open shots to toss the ball to a cutter or someone open near the rim. This sometimes ends as a steal or blocked shot when Brad would have been better off just shotting the ball himself. Also, Peja is clearly taking too many shots in his current condition.

Didn't anyone watch the best movie ever... HOOSIERS

"PASS THE BALL (ERR FORGOT THE NUMBER WILL GUESS) 5 times."
