Im sure youve seen it by now but if you havent Gary Sheffield cought an elbow from a RedSox fan in the eighth. The fan appeared to be reaching for the ball when he caught Sheffield in the lip. Sheff swiped at him then turned and threw the ball into the infield. He then turned back toward the fan and went at him fist clenched. Then visions of Ron Artest flashed through his head and he kept his composure. Cooler heads eventually prevaled. Security was awesome--keeping things from getting out of control. The fan was reaching onto the field during a live play. I think baseball fans with front row tickets might need to pass an IQ test before entering the stadium. When will they learn that you dont reach out on the field of play? Props to Sheff for not going ballistic! I know he isnt exactly considered a Nice Guy so I was glad to see him show some restraint. Just another twist in the rvalry.
