Season ticket holder again

Last year (for this season's games) was the first time I was not a season ticket holder. All my partner and I wanted was half a season of tickets and we could not find a partner for the other half. Common story.

Last week a Kings agent contacted me, found I wanted the same half package as last year, asked if we would be interested in a partner for the other half.... and of course I said YES. As a result we were matched with another with the same need, agreed on the seats, and a deal was made.

We get two seats per game. So under this arrangement, both we and our new partner are "season ticket holders", each for one seat, getting the same benefits as all the other season ticket holders get - some of which save us significant money and the ticket prices are $20 per seat cheaper than last year. Not a bad deal for someone who has paid top dollar all these years. Go KINGS.

I'm really happy that the Kings are finally doing something positive to accomodate the season ticket holders. I realize they are in a situation where they need to do this, but glad they are finally waking up. The change in personnel at the top is really helping the situation.

I give a lot of credit to the Maloofs. The were heavily criticized the last few years when things weren't going well. They really have shown a new commitment this year in turning around the franchise, and being more visible.

Taking over control of the business operations was a great move. I really do believe the Maloofs care about the fans, and we'll see more things like this going forward.

So how did you work out who gets to go to which game?
We haven't yet. The schedule doesn't come out until August. But your question is a good one. This year, when we asked for a 22 game package (half of the home games) the Kings had divided all home games into two packages, we got to choose which we wanted. Quite frankly, either would have been fine for us. They divided the games so that each got one of each Western Conference team visit, the Eastern Conference teams were divided 50/50 with each getting some good and some bad. Overall, the games were divided in more or less an alternating basis so that we saw games, two or three a month, evenly throughout the season. That was what we wanted.

If a person definitely wanted specific games or wanted to avoid specific games, then it might not work for him. That's not the case with us.

The short answer to your question is - the Kings will make a split of home games using roughly the criteria I mentioned above, we and our new partner will take a look and work things out the best we can.
