SBC Yahoo DSL

Does anyone have this service and do you like it? From what I'm hearing, Comcast will once again hike up their prices next month. Therefore, I'm looking for something cheaper.

I have SBC Yahoo DSL.... works great and has been very reliable. I rout to a wireless net work and have both of my computers on that wireless net and can still get great speeds on both systems.

I'm using it at home. I have 5 computers networked into it (home office + house), and haven't had any problems to speak of. My local phone company is just two blocks from my house, so I get the added benefit of nearly twice the advertised speeds.

Me, too... never had any problems in over 1 year of service.

I'm planning this week to upgrade to DSL from dial-up. I checked out http://www.dslreports.com to get opinions on the various carriers. I found one based in L.A. called DSL Extreme, and the customer satisfaction scores on that website were pretty high. If SBC is your main phone carrier, they'll charge you $21.95 a month for the first year, which is what I'm paying for dial-up (whether I can renew at that price remains to be seen-- I've heard that you can renew at the $26.95-per-month rate with SBC). But you won't get the same bargain if you have Verizon or some other phone company. Obviously they're focused on trying to make a dent in SBC's territory.

I have the SBC/Yahoo DSL package, and I like it. They use Norton AV for e-mails and files. I use McAfee, so I think I have double-coverage. Then with subscriber Adware, I have my Trojan issues under control. SBC will service the lines if you have difficulties also.

Now, I'm getting mixed messages. Some people have said its the cable part that will be going up and some people have said its broadband.

I've heard that only the cable television service will be going up, again. The broadband cable internet service is staying the same, for now.
